A few days back, a pack of Paneer was staring at me from the refrigerator. Now this happens a lot of times to me. I end up buying stuff that I don’t need or hope to use soon but forget totally. Later in the moment of panic, I look out for options to turn it something good. So, Panner/Cottage Cheese it was that day. Now, the husband is not a fan of it at all....

YOU GUYS. These are the kind of posts I love sharing most. I could not be more excited about today’s Saturday Cocktail recipe. It’s not only a great drink, it’s also so fun, and “spooky”. It seems that I simply cannot go a Halloween season without creating at least one or two Harry Potter inspired recipes. I know Harry Potter isn’t just for Halloween, but Halloween gives me the the perfect excuse to play around with recipes and create themed drinks and desserts that I wouldn’t have an excuse to create otherwise....

When we set out to start building the new studio barn we were not entirely sure how it would all come together, but after a few months of working non-stop on both building and designing the studio space I think everyone is happy with how it is shaping up…and totally ready for it to be DONE. Building is semi-exhausting…very exciting, but exhausting. I’m going to be honest, the bulk of the work for this project is being handled by my sweet mom and HBH’s business manager, Jen....

Well, these are fun – sweet, decadent, and just the yummiest – plus they scream summertime. I love them so much! I’ll be the very first to tell you that I do not love anything with marshmallows. They’ve always been too sweet for me. But a summer s’more? Well, that’s different. Who could ever turn down a classic s’more toasted over an open fire on a summer night? It’s perfection....

After what seems like ages, I am here with an egg recipe and a favorite one at that. This Tamil-style Udaitha Muttai Kuzhambu is a specialty from my mother-in-law’s kitchen and I attribute everything I learnt about traditional, authentic tamil recipes to her, in all these years being her daughter-in-law. Today’s recipe is a childhood favorite – Uppu Biscuit or Maida Biscuit as we used to call it. On the days we were really bored, especially during the summer vacations – amma would make this dough for us to prepare the biscuit. She would hand us each (both sister and I) a large steel plate and a roll pin. We would pinch a ball of dough and roll it and cut it into small diamonds (of course irregularly) and she would take those cut maida biscuits in batches and fry them until golden brown....

Traditionally, Dalcha is made with minced meat and lentils, but in this vegetarian dalcha recipe, I use brinjals and potatoes along with lentils. Many a times, I replicate the same meal at my kitchen and here is one such recipe....

I know I had one up last week, but I guess something about January screams noodles and bowl to me. I am surely an odd one. Keeping things short today because I am trying to get myself all caught up on cooking and things in the kitchen this week. Last week I was kicked out of the kitchen for three days in a row so now I’m playing catch up....

Which, let’s just be real, isn’t that like every morning? This leads me to the question, are you a morning person or a night owl? I used to one hundred percent be a morning person through and through. Getting up at 5am was no problem, but I was also going to bed at like 9 pm. Over the years of working hard on HBH, I’ve become more of a night owl and have oddly found that I have the most concentration at night....

I have to admit, it can be really hard to balance the overly fun recipes with the overly simple recipes. The fun and different recipes can sometimes require more ingredients and longer cooking times. While the super simple recipes are well, super simple. The simple recipes are obviously the more popular recipes, and trust me, I get it. Life is so busy and hectic (…Monday, majorly kicked my butt). On busy nights we just need a simpler dinner that’s healthy and delicious too....

This is one of those recipes where I just love how easily it came together and how fresh it tastes. I know summer is all about stone fruit, berries and tomatoes, but pineapple and mangos often get overlooked. And lets be real, we all know I have a real sweet spot for fresh pineapple. I love snacking on it and I love using it in savory dishes to create layers of flavor and color within my recipes....
