I think I get my love for sukha (dry) chicken curries from my mom. Just to be clear, when I say dry, I don’t mean juiceless, tasteless poultry. I mean a chicken dish that doesn’t have a lot of sauce or gravy (as we indians refer to it). Rather the masala clings to the chicken. My husband and kids love this chicken. It is flavorful,not too spicy but still with bold flavors....

At least once a week I make my family’s take out favorites including beef lettuce wraps, cream cheese wontons, Chinese lemon chicken and this hearty and delicious chicken fried rice dish. Fried rice is a take out classic, but it’s actually super simple to make at home. My version of this dish is full of tender chicken and colorful veggies, and it’s always a hit with both kids and adults alike....

Kali mirch chicken is rich, comforting and peppery. The luscious sauce is made with yogurt, ground cashews and lots of black pepper. You don’t need fancy ingredients to make this dish. It is a simple, fuss free recipe and you probably already have everything in your pantry to make it. When I want a break from tomato flavored chicken curries like murgh masala or chicken dopyaza, the ivory colored, creamy black pepper chicken curry is my go to....

Or really just May fifth, because clearly I already have Cinco de Mayo on the brain. Ok well, I actually always have Mexican on the brain, but who can blame me? It is good stuff. Didn’t you just love cookie dough when you were growing up? My memories of eating spoonful after spoonful of my mom’s cookie dough in our kitchen at home in Cleveland are some of my favorites. Anytime my mom would bake cookies – which was very often, she would always make a batch and a half. The idea was that she’d bake the full batch, and then the extra half batch was for snacking on the dough!...

When I’m looking for a dinner option I know my family will happily eat, I turn to slow cooker whole chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, and this easy cornflake chicken. When I was growing up, one of my favorite meals that my mom used to make was cornflake chicken. She’d take whole pieces of chicken and coat them in cornflakes, then bake the chicken. These cornflake chicken tenders are an updated version of that recipe that my mom used to make, and it’s probably no surprise that my kids love them too!...

I know Taco Tuesday is “the thing”, but my thought is, tacos today in prep for tomorrow! Plus, I just thought they’d be a fun and delicious Monday recipe…and they are! I’ve been wanting to make and share these tacos for the longest time now. But I wanted to wait till later in April in prep for Cinco de Mayo. So, I’m sure I mentioned this, but brother Red has been in town since a little before Christmas. He’s here snowboarding until the end of the month. We almost never see Red since he’s constantly traveling, but because of COVID, his travel schedule is much mellower this year. It’s a huge bummer of course, but the silver lining is that we get to have him home for more than a few days at a time....

You can never go wrong with potatoes to accompany a nice steak or juicy pork chop. Some of my favorite options include hearty oven roasted potatoes, decadent cream cheese mashed potatoes, and these crock pot baked potatoes. I’m always searching for easy side dishes to go along with our dinners, and I often turn to these crock pot baked potatoes. It takes just 5 minutes to prep them in the morning, and in the evening you have perfectly cooked potatoes with minimal effort!...

Taco Tuesday is more of a thing, but this week we’ve got Wednesday night tacos, and we are here for it. I’ve been so excited to share this easy recipe. These are currently some of our most favorite tacos! It’s the shredded chipotle beef – SO GOOD. I know I’ve spoken about my dad’s tacos many times over. I did not grown up eating this. Dahi poha or choora was introduced to us by one of our neighbors from the state of Bihar. North indian breakfasts are different and are more wheat based be it a warm bowl of dalia (wheat groats) in warm milk or stuffed parathas (flatbreads). Beaten or flattened rice (poha) which is very popular all over India and is used in making trail mixes, lightly tempered pilafs for breakfasts and for desserts too....

It’s strawberry cookie day here at HBH today!! It’s a good ole’ happy kind of day! I know that’s a little cheesy, but just looking at these light pink cookies makes me a little happier. They’re so fun! I’ve been looking forward to writing and sharing these cookies since I made them last week. I love them, they’re easy, cute, soft, chewy, and oh-so-yummy. Plus, they’re fun for springtime and Easter too!...

Like HIGHLY, but I figure it’s ok because aside from the parmesan, which I do think is a must, these are actually pretty healthy. And super quick + easy! Yeah! There is no frying, soaking or any other annoying tasks. All you need to do is slice, grill and serve! Personally I love these just at they are or with a little blue cheese, but you could go crazy with dipping options....

My pasta maker machine is one of the best buys in the recent times. Would you believe me if I said that I have completely stopped buying packaged pasta and have been making my own ever since we got this little machine home?! Yes, it is true. It has been a year I have only been making fresh pasta. Not a single time did the pasta machine or my fool proof three ingredient pasta recipe fail me....
