If you’re an avocado fan, you must try these crispy avocado fries. Serve them along with other appetizers such as pizza dip and sausage stuffed mushrooms for an unforgettable party spread!

Avocado Fries Ingredients

To make this avocado fries recipe you will need large avocados, flour, chili powder, salt, eggs, panko breadcrumbs and vegetable oil. For other avocado appetizers you should try my creamy avocado dip, avocado toast or my copycat Chipotle guacamole! You can’t go wrong with avocado!

How Do You Make Avocado Fries?

When you make avocado fries start by peeling two avocados and remove the seeds. You want to cut the avocados into 1/2 inch thick slices. Next make a mixture of flour, chili powder and salt in a small bowl. In another bowl beat two eggs. In a shallow bowl or plate you want to have panko breadcrumbs. Dredge the avocado slices in the seasoned flour. Next dip them in the beaten eggs and finally coat them in panko breadcrumbs for an ultra crispy coating. Heat some oil and pan fry the avocados until browned. Take them out of the skillet and let them rest on paper towels to drain. Enjoy the avocados plain or with dipping sauce.

Tips For The Perfect Avocado Fries

You don’t need a lot of oil for this, a 1/4 inch layer of vegetable oil on the bottom of the pan is fine. You’ll need to cook the avocado slices in batches. If you end up with a lot of dark bits at the end of the first few batches, carefully wipe out the pan and add a new layer of oil on the bottom. These avocado fries are best served immediately out of the pan so that they’re hot and crispy. To make the sauce like the one in the pictures, you can make my classic, easy fry sauce.

Flavor Variations

These fries are crispy and delicious as-is, but you can change the flavor to suit your taste.

Dips: I like to serve my avocado fries with plenty of dipping sauces. Some great options are Chipotle salsa, homemade ranch dip, salsa verde or bacon ranch dip. Toppings: You can add a squeeze of lime juice and a sprinkling of cilantro leaves. Spicy: Try adding extra chili powder or cayenne pepper to the flour mixture for a little heat. Flavorings: For some extra flavor try adding to the flour mixture garlic powder, black pepper or a little taco seasoning. Baked: You can make a baked version of this dish by placing the avocado slices on a wire rack over a baking sheet and placing them in an oven at 400 degrees F. Bake them for about 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Try serving these fries with a few different dips and toppings and watch them disappear! Your friends and family won’t be able to resist these crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside snacks!
