Not to mention, they’re low carb and keto-friendly! If you are looking for more appetizers for your party or get-together you should check out my smoked chicken wings, buffalo cauliflower and bacon wrapped water chestnuts. HOW DO YOU MAKE BACON WRAPPED PICKLES?
These pickle fries are one of the easiest yet most satisfying snacks or appetizers you’ll ever eat. This snack is made with pickle spears wrapped in smoky bacon, then baked to crispy perfection. Serve them with ranch and watch them disappear!
You have a few options when it comes to the pickle portion of this snack. For your pickle fries, you can either buy the pre-cut pickle spears or you can buy whole pickles and quarter them. I like buying the pre-cut spears because it makes the snack that much quicker with one less prep step.
For these bacon wrapped pickles, thick cut bacon is not a good idea. You don’t want to overcook the pickle but you have to get the bacon crispy for the snack to be the right texture. So, go with the regular cut bacon for best results.
WHAT MAKES BACON WRAPPED PICKLES KETO-FRIENDLY?
The keto diet goes for a low carb, high fat sort of scenario in order to get your body to burn fat and not carbohydrates. The ingredients used in this recipe are on the keto-friendly list and cover the the low carb and high fat route the keto diet likes to take.
IS RANCH DRESSING KETO-FRIENDLY?
There are some ranch dressings you can purchase at the store that are already keto-friendly. However, many people like to make their own ranch dressing which is quite easy. This allows them to make it as keto-friendly as possible. I have my own version of homemade ranch HERE.
My family is head over heels when it comes to pickles. Who am I kidding, they’re head over heels for bacon as well. So, it’s always a hit when I whip these pickle fries up as a snack or appetizer before dinner. I’m sure I’ll be making them often for years to come!
