We love tacos in my house, I make them almost every week. From slow cooker chicken tacos to Thai chicken tacos, you can’t ever go wrong! This buffalo chicken version is the newest addition to our Taco Tuesday rotation and it’s a good one!

I’m always looking for new ideas to jazz up taco night, and these buffalo chicken tacos have quickly become a family favorite! They’ve got all of the best flavors of buffalo chicken wrapped up into tortillas and they couldn’t be any easier to make!

How do you make buffalo chicken tacos?

The filling for these tacos starts with cooked, shredded chicken. You can use rotisserie chicken, chicken that’s been cooked in the slow cooker, or leftover chicken. You can also just make my crock pot buffalo chicken recipe, and put it into the tortillas with the toppings. Whatever cooked chicken you have on hand will work. The chicken is tossed in a homemade buffalo sauce, then it’s ready to be layered into tacos.

How do you make buffalo sauce?

Buffalo sauce is made with hot sauce, butter and honey. I like to use Frank’s Red Hot Sauce for the most authentic flavor. The butter and honey serve to temper the acidity and heat of the hot sauce. After the chicken is tossed in buffalo sauce, it’s time to assemble your tacos. I go simple with these tacos and add lettuce, tomato and ranch. That being said, there are tons of ways you can flavor these tacos including additions such as

Bacon Blue cheese Green onions Cheddar Cheese Avocado

I use soft flour tortillas for my buffalo chicken tacos, but you could certainly go with hard taco shells if you prefer.

Typically buffalo chicken is served with either ranch or blue cheese dressing to complement the spicy flavors. My family likes ranch, you can go with store bought dressing or make your own ranch dip or ranch dressing. If you’re a blue cheese fan, go with homemade blue cheese dressing instead!

I typically serve buffalo chicken tacos with a side of baked potato wedges and parmesan roasted broccoli. If you want to keep your sides in realm of Mexican food, pinto beans and Mexican rice are great side dishes. This buffalo chicken makes great leftovers. I often make a double batch so that everyone can have tacos for lunch the next day. Any leftover meat can also be used in sandwiches, as a pizza topping, or on a salad. The next time you’re craving tacos, switch things up a bit with this fun and unique recipe. The whole family will thank you!
