Whenever I’m looking for a simple yet satisfying snack, I turn to this easy dill dip. Serve this dip alongside other snacks such as homemade Chex mix and lemon pepper wings, then watch the rave reviews come in!

Dill Dip Ingredients

To make this dill dip recipe you will need sour cream, mayonnaise, dried dill, dried parsley, seasoned salt and dried minced onion. You may want fresh dill to garnish the dip. Make an appetizer platter with some of my favorite party snacks like baked chicken wings, coconut shrimp and mini pizzas.

How Do You Make Dill Dip?

Make dill dip by placing all of the ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Stir to combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, herbs and spices. Serve the dip immediately, or transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for later use.

Tips For The Perfect Dip

I use dried herbs because I always have them in the pantry, but fresh herbs will also work well. If you use fresh herbs, I still recommend going with the minced dried onion, as fresh onion may have too strong of a flavor. Looking to save a few calories? You can easily substitute low fat sour cream and mayonnaise instead of the full fat variety. Check the expiration date on your bottles of herbs before you make this dill dip! While dried herbs last for a very long time, they do eventually lose potency. I always go through my spice cabinet once a year to toss out bottles of herbs that have expired and no longer taste fresh. Serve your dill dip with potato chips, pita chips, crackers, baguette slices or pretzels.

Flavor Variations

While this dip is fabulous as-is, you can add other ingredients to customize the flavors to your tastes.

Cheese: Feel free to stir in 1/2 cup of grated cheese such as sharp white cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese or Swiss cheese. Add-Ins: Amp up the flavor by adding seasonings. You can add garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, taco seasoning, fresh chives, hot sauce, chopped olives, sun dried tomatoes or even finely grated carrots. Toppings: Feel free to add toppings to your dip. Sprinkle on cooked crumbled bacon, toasted pine nuts, smoked paprika, diced fresh tomato or drizzle on a little good olive oil. Greek Yogurt: You can substitute Greek yogurt for the mayonnaise. If your dip is too thick, simply add a little more sour cream until you reach your desired consistency.

I like to garnish my dill dip with a sprinkling of either fresh or dried dill. Whatever you have on hand works just fine. Whenever I bring this recipe to parties, it’s devoured immediately!
