If you love Italian food, you’ll love these fried ravioli. They’re crispy, flavorful and delicious dipped in homemade marinara sauce.

Pasta is one of those foods that I can’t seem to get enough of, and neither can my family. This fried ravioli quickly became a household favorite and gets made often because it’s so easy and delicious. It’s a fun way to switch up your pasta game and serve something a little different than usual.

HOW DO YOU MAKE FRIED RAVIOLI?

Toasted ravioli is much easier than it appears. This tasty dish starts with cheese ravioli that are dredged in seasoned breadcrumbs. Once perfectly coated, they are then fried until golden brown to make the perfect unique appetizer.

Any flavor of ravioli will work great for this appetizer, however, I normally use the cheese ravioli. I use the refrigerated ravioli although frozen ravioli that have been thawed will also work.  I use Italian seasoned breadcrumbs because they’re super convenient with all the herbs and spices already added. If you don’t have Italian breadcrumbs, you can use regular breadcrumbs with a few teaspoons of Italian seasoning stirred in.

The raviolis can be breaded ahead of time, then stored, covered, in a single layer on a sheet pan in the fridge for up to 4 hours before you plan to fry them. Raviolis will fry up quickly so watch them carefully to make sure they don’t burn. You can bake these ravioli instead of frying them by coating them in cooking spray, then baking at 400 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.

WHAT ARE OTHER RAVIOLI FLAVOR OPTIONS?

There are plenty of ravioli flavors to choose from. Whether you’re making the ravioli yourself or buying them pre-made, cheese isn’t your only option. Some other options are spinach and ricotta, spinach and artichoke, sausage and marinara, three cheese asparagus, and more. Really, the options are endless when it comes to ravioli flavors.

CAN YOU PAN FRY RAVIOLI?

Yes, you can pan fry these ravioli. Simply add enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan, then proceed with the recipe as written.

This is one of the quickest meals or appetizers we make around this house. The pre-made ravioli truly is the biggest trick to making these an easy recipe. I love to serve these fried ravioli as a party snack because it’s totally unexpected and everyone always goes crazy for them.
