If you’ve ever seen The Grinch, which I really hope everyone has, then you know who the Holiday Cheermeister is. He or she is the spirit of the holidays and meant to bring cheer to all. In the Grinch’s case, he could probably use a little cheer on the inside! So, since this Holiday Cheermeister Bourbon Punch is full of Christmas spirit, I thought it would be the perfect cocktail to help out poor Mr. Grinch. It’s full of warming bourbon, sweet pomegranate, winter citrus, and topped off with bubbly Prosecco. All things cheerful! When brainstorming my Christmas Cocktails for this year, this was one of the first drinks to come to mind. I don’t know why I never thought of this sooner, but the idea of a Holiday Cheermeister Punch sounded way too fun to pass up.
Here are the details. Mix a little bourbon with some pomegranate juice, fresh orange zest, and orange juice. Chill the mixture in your favorite punch bowl or pitcher. Then just before you’re ready to serve, add the Prosecco. And just like that you’ll have your party punch ready to go. And in under ten minutes. It’s so easy, extra delicious, refreshing, and full of bubbles. Basically this is the ultimate holiday party punch. AND. To make things just a touch more festive… I made holiday ice cubes with fresh cranberries, blood orange slices, and fresh rosemary. I LOVE how these ice cubes turned out, and the added bonus is that they will not water down your drink. Yes, please.
This cocktail perfect for any and all of your upcoming parties. But it’s also great enjoyed with a small group of family or friends. I love that it’s not loaded with added sugars like most punch recipes. The mix of pomegranate juice and Prosecco (you could also just use a sparkling wine) keeps the punch perfectly sweet. To me there’s nothing worse than a drink that gives you a “sugar rush” hangover. No thank you. I hope you all enjoy this very fun drink…and that it brings plenty of Cheer to your holiday season!
