About four years back, we started making butter popcorn at home, after a lot of trial and error, we seemed to have gotten it right. With that, we said good bye to the ready-to-eat or packaged stuff and that has been the best thing to happen. ‘Cos every Friday night is a movie date at home with some amazing homemade butter popcorn! And once you get used to making popcorn at home, there is no stopping at all – especially since it is melt in mouth and super fresh.

I usually make butter popcorn, pepper popcorn and caramel popcorn on a regular basis but my favorite is this simple, utterly butterly delicious salted butter popcorn! Though I had been making this for such a long time, I never really thought of posting the recipe here. Check out the video recipe for details of making popcorn. Some corn kernels may never pop up and we would have to discard them. Choosing right kind of corn kernels is very important. I used a combination of oil and butter, but full butter or oil can also be used. Additionally, add pepper powder for making pepper popcorn.
