I would love to say I am ready, but let’s be honest I have not wrapped one gift. Nor have I made or planned one item on our Christmas menu. Somehow I got myself signed up to make Christmas cookies for like… everyone. Teachers, siblings, UPS delivery guys (we see a lot of Jose, especially around this time of year), co workers ( umm, sorry but your’s might be more like happy new year cookies by the time I actually get them done!) and for little Asher’s preschool class Christmas party. Asher’s party, it is today. I have not made one single cookies yet.
So yeah, that and life has left me a little behind. What’s new?
The good thing is we have snow, lots of snow. Oh, and fudge…..of course because could it really be Christmas without pounds of fudge, Christmas cookies, Rudolph cupcakes, Christmas blondies, hot cocoa, truffles and candies? I think not. I will totally be packing up these adorable, sinful squares into cute little Santa tins and calling it a day. Homemade gift’s in an hour! Yes!
With just four day’s left till Christmas I think we can all agree that a quick and simple dessert is a must. Something impressive that will not leave us all screaming FUDGE! I know I have been there. Honestly, I am not really a fudge person. Although the word fudge comes out of my mouth at least once a day. Fudge the butter exploded in the microwave, fudge the cupcakes exploded all over the oven, fudge I fried my hair, fudge I burnt my hands….again. Yeah, I say fudge a lot. Anyway, I tend to find fudge to be rather boring. Chocolate and cream? Boring! Where is the wow, the texture, the flavor? This fudge however is anything but! Umm, kahlua for one adds amazing flavor and just highlights the chocolate. It literally makes it pop! Then you’ve got the peanut butter. I mean come on, Kahlua, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, semi sweet chocolate, peanut butter. Soft, creamy, crunchy – Fudge! You are going to want to sink you teeth into the screen. I can not be held responsible.
