When I want to cool off on a hot day, I turn to summer drink recipes such as vodka punch, mango iced tea, a Mexican mule, agua fresca, strawberry lemonade and this simple but satisfying mango mojito. A mojito is always a safe bet for entertaining. This classic cocktail from Cuba is always a hit. When you add mango flavor to the mix, you get an extraordinary drink! This is one of my all time favorite mojito recipes.

Mango Mojito Ingredients

To make this recipe, you will need fresh lime juice, hot water, fresh mint leaves, granulated sugar, white rum, mango nectar and club soda. You can garnish the drink with mint sprigs, lime slices or wedges and fresh mango slices.

How Do You Make A Mango Mojito?

Dissolve the sugar in hot water and stir to make a simple syrup. Place the mint leaves and sugar syrup in the bottom of a glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint. Add ice cubes to the glass, then pour in the rum, lime juice and mango nectar. Finish the drink by pouring in the club soda, then stir gently. Add garnishes like a lime wedge and more mint, and serve immediately.

Tips For The Perfect Drink

Mango nectar is a drink found in cans in the soda or juice aisle of the grocery store. It typically contains mango puree, sugar and water. If you can’t find mango nectar, you can use mango puree and add some sugar to it. You will need a muddler to crush the mint for the most authentic mango mojito flavor. If you don’t own a muddler, you can use the round end of a wooden spoon. This recipe makes one drink. You can easily adjust the recipe for a crowd by changing the number of servings in the recipe card, and the ingredients will automatically recalculate. If you’re serving a bigger group, feel free to use a pitcher to make a large batch. For an extra special presentation, try dipping the rim of your cocktail glass in water, then place the rim of the glass on a plate of sugar to get a frosted look.

Flavor Variations

While this drink is delicious as-is, you can make a few changes to suit your taste.

Fruit: Swap out the mango nectar for other fruit juices. Some great options include pineapple juice, guava nectar, orange juice or cranberry juice. Alcohol: If you don’t have white rum on hand, this drink will also work well with vodka. You could also go with a fruit flavored rum such as Malibu that complements the mango flavor.

Take a trip to the tropics from the comfort of your own home on a hot summer day with this sweet and fizzy mango mojito!
