When I’m entertaining, I like to offer mocktail drink recipes for the kids in my life and for those who prefer not to consume alcohol. Some of my favorite options include pineapple punch, cherry limeade, sherbet punch and this light and refreshing mojito mocktail. There are days when I want a cool drink but I’m not in the mood for alcohol. Those are the times I turn to this quick and easy mojito mocktail recipe! It’s a version of the classic drink from Cuba but without the white rum.

Mojito Mocktail Ingredients

To make this recipe, you will need fresh mint leaves, granulated sugar, hot water, lime juice and club soda. You can also garnish the drink with lime slices or lime wedges and mint sprigs.

How Do You Make A Mojito Mocktail?

Mix the sugar with hot water and stir to dissolve. Place the mint leaves and sugar syrup in the bottom of a glass, and use a muddler tool to crush the mint. Add ice cubes on top of the mint. Pour in the lime juice and club soda. Stir to combine, then garnish with lime slices and extra mint sprigs and serve.

Tips For The Perfect Drink

You will need a muddler tool for this recipe. It’s important to crush the mint so that it can release all of its flavor into the drink. If you don’t have a muddler, you can use the end of a wooden spoon. This mojito mocktail only contains a few ingredients, which means it’s important to use high quality ingredients like freshly squeezed lime juice made with fresh limes. You can dip the rim of your glass in water and then in sugar for a more elegant presentation. Mixing the sugar and hot water together creates a simple syrup which is often used in cocktails and mocktails. The benefit of using simple syrup is that it’s easier to mix syrup into a drink than sugar, as the sugar may not fully dissolve.

Flavor Variations

This recipe is delicious as-is, but feel free to change up the ingredients to suit your tastes.

Soda: Swap out the soda water for lime sparkling water, or use lemon lime soda for a sweeter drink. Flavorings: You can add up to 3 ounces of fruit juice to your mojito mocktail. Some great options include mango nectar, guava nectar, pineapple juice, cranberry juice or cream of coconut. You can also use a different type of sweetener such as honey or agave syrup.

Nothing is more refreshing than this virgin mojito recipe on a hot day. This is one my go-to summer drinks!
