Happy (almost) August everyone! I love the month of August. Our weather slowly turns nicer, the days are sunnier, warm, and so amazing. The afternoon clouds or rain that can come through in July begin to dissipate. It’s a little chillier at night, peak fall foliage happens in the first two weeks of September. I know that seems so early for fall, but living in the mountains means we have short summers and a super quick fall. Late summer/early fall has become my very favorite time of year! This last week has brought on so much change for myself and our business. Change that I wasn’t necessarily prepared for, but feel excited about. In just the last week I’ve seen so much growth within myself and our business. And with growth comes growing pains. But we’re taking them as they come. In the past, I would have thought these “pains” were the end of the world. I would be in a “crisis” state of mind, but I’m not doing that. Nothing should ever be a crisis, just a question of, “what’s the solution”. I’m rambling and none of the above makes sense to you all. But my message is, if you’re in a place of change and growth, even though it’s hard, embrace it and be excited for what’s to come. The unknown is scary, but can bring wonderful things! Ok, moving on to more cheerful subjects! I’m heading into August with a clear mindset. The week/weeks ahead will be busy and I love that. I’m heading out on Wednesday for a work trip. When I get back we’ll hopefully be heading out on one last family trip before school starts back up for Asher. We just cannot pick a location! Somewhere in the US, I think, maybe the East Coast? I really loved Miami and would honestly be so excited just to go back. Any suggestions? Needs to be somewhere that’s warm and beautiful this time of year! Asher’s birthday will follow pretty soon after. I really have no idea what to get her this year. My only thought is the Lady Dior bag, but that’s not happening, way too high-end. I’m just a sucker for a designer bag. Maybe something vintage. And after that, everyone will be in California for my cousin’s baby shower. All very happy things to look forward to! I’d love to hear what’s happening for you all this month. What are you looking forward to? Anything fun coming up? Any recipe requests for the end of summer? I think that’s it for life updates! Lots of rambling and reflecting today, but I hope it left a few of you with motivation to embrace change and have more confidence this week! Here’s another round of favorites!
1. Things i’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
loving…Jelly hair pins from Emi Jay. These are so fun and practical. I’ve never used a pin like this but I’m so excited to try them. They’re really cute too. loving…SMITH + MARA jewelry. These are investment pieces, but so beautiful. You can use the code, Tieghan, at checkout for 20% off your order. everything in my cart…LOW. I love this The Frankie Shop satin shirt and short set. Looks so luxurious. Also from The Frankie Shop, this olive tank is an everyday essential. And I want these olive pants so badly, so cute. From Zara, I love this knit corset top. Cute with these wide-leg jeans. How perfect is this knit sweater? Wear as a top now, but layer it with knits in the fall. And lastly, this cut-out linen blend dress is wonderful for day or night. From & Other Stories, I adore this wool knit cardigan. From H&M, I love this tote. Also, this striped knit sweater would be great for travel. Wear on the plane or in the car, yet cute enough to wear out to dinner. From Everlane, I have these pants in my cart. And I’m thinking about this cozy half zip sweater for cooler days ahead. listening to…Committing to Less So You Can Do More on The Blond Files Podcast. Working to embrace this concept, so I enjoyed this episode with Megan Roup. reading…“Celebrate Every Victory”—Lauren Ireland, Co-Founder of Summer Fridays, Shares Advice in Business and Beauty. An uplifting Sunday read. I know Lauren personally and she really is such a sweet and hard-working person. I loved learning even more about her. loving…Zara Home finds. I know I link to Zara home all the time, but I swear they are the best-kept secret of the Interior design world. How pretty is this sofa? It looks like it should cost triple the price. ordered…new to me skincare. I’m all about vitamin C products, so I’m excited to try this Ole Henriksen vitamin C essence. And I haven’t ordered this just yet, but I really want to test out this masque vivant from Buy Biologique. loving…oldie, but good skincare favorites. First off, Tan Luxe’s gradual tan lotion is the best. I can’t remember if I mentioned this in previous weeks, but I’ve been consistent with dry brushing, showering, then applying the gradual tan lotion and it really works. No streaks! Also, love the Vintner’s Daughter essence. They repackaged it into a spray and it’s perfection. I use it morning and night. And I know this next one is an investment, but the Tata Harper eye serum works wonders. You can use the code TATAxTIEGHAN or 20% off your orders. And of course, my core Dr. Barbara Sturm products, the good C serum, hyaluronic serum, night serum eye cream, and face cream are daily must-haves. I use her enzyme cleanser 2-3 times a week. From IS Clinical, the cleansing complex and pro heal advanced+ serum are also everyday favorites. Also, I’m dying to try the famous Vampire facial from Dr. Barbara Sturm. thinking about….this Rose On Rose Derma Roller. I have read a lot about derma rolling, but to be honest, it scares me a little. After reading this story, the secret to younger looking eyes, however, I think I’m convinced. wanting to test out…also, on the topic of skincare, Forma. Have you heard of it? Cait, my brother’s girlfriend just told me about it and I’m so curious to learn more. From what I understand, it rebuilds the collagen in your face, helping with signs of aging. It’s a laser treatment that’s said to take a decade off your face. Super into this. following…Melissa Wood-Tepperberb. Obviously, no surprise here, since I speak of Melissa often, but I think a lot of my new ways of thinking have been brought on by her content. Unlike a lot of wellness accounts, her methods feel doable/approachable and not daunting or “cringy”. It’s easy to take away what resonates with you and then leave what might not. wanting…to try the Rhode products, but they are still sold out. Has anyone been lucky enough to get something from the line? loving…all 4 Phlur fragrance scents. These are always sold out!! Feeling lucky I was able to get all 4 fragrances. the trend I’m not loving…small, sporty sunglasses. I know everyone is loving these oval shades, but they’ve never been my favorite look. everything in my cart…HIGH. I am obsessed with The Row right now and love this double-breasted long coat and the bourse suede bag. Speaking of bags, I almost splurged on this mini Fendi sunshine raffia bag. It’s perfect for summer looks, but a nice transition piece into fall with the black leather trim. This Ulla Johnson jacket really is the perfect transition piece into fall. Lightweight with a pale pink color, and cozy with the shearling collar. I clearly have fall looks on my mind because I’m so into this oversized fleece jacket from Tibi. Oh my gosh, so cozy. I want to curl up in it. This satin dress from Cult Gia is stunning. It would pair well with these St. Laurent black pumps. I also really love this black Staud dress for a fancy night out. Or this Staud Gabriel dress, love this. It reminds me of a dress my mom once had. And then, the perfect black mini dress too. Ok, last dress, love this ivory dress from Khaite. The back detailing is so pretty. Lastly, I’d be so excited over this Sablyn sweater. It’s so cozy with the hood.
drinking…GOOPGENES Marine Collagen Superpowder. I just ordered this and am excited to try it. Interesting for anyone who’s on social media whether you’re a creator or a consumer. wanting…a new big girl wallet. My current wallet is one my grandma gave me when I was maybe 12 years old. It’s definitely time for something new, but I haven’t found the perfect fit. It needs to be small, I barely use a wallet these days. Following…Celeste Coslett Clark. The prettiest floral prints. They’ll brighten your mood just from looking.

4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: Do you overpack for trips? Or just bring the essentials?a: Somewhere in the middle, but I pack on the side of over-packing. Especially for work trips when I have a lot of looks to bring for events/meetings. For vacations, I pack much lighter since they’re always laidback. I end up wearing the same few outfits I feel like. q: What about the studio and home design is most exciting?a: So much about the renovation is exciting, but mainly that I finally get to create spaces that feel creative, relaxing, inviting, and like my own. I’m really so excited to have the decor of both spaces curated to my style. We never really finished either space so they’ve never felt fully done. Because of that, I’ve never felt confident to share them. They’re just not spaces I consider inspiring. So I’m excited to be finishing them up and making each space unique and pretty! And to share them with you guys!! q: Do you ever fight with your siblings?a: no not really, most of us are older and past that. I can’t remember the last time any of us fought with each other. We’re a weird family you guys, we all like each other. I mean sure we can get annoyed with someone, but we don’t fight about it. They’re just an annoying then we move on kind of thing ??♀️ q: Favorite Peanut Butter1) to cook with2) to spreada: Not going to lie, I honestly just use the 365 organic creamy or Kirkland organic creamy peanut butter all around. Both are just peanuts and sea salt and I love their consistency. Tip: when opening a new jar, I always add the entire jar to a food processor/blender so I can really incorporate the oil back in. Way easier and less messy than using a knife. I’ll just pour it back into the jar, then keep it in the fridge. q: If a movie/documentary was made about u, who would play Tieghan?a: Nina Dobrev? Just because everyone says she’s my doppelganger! Plus she’s beautiful and so talented. But umm I’d die for Emma Waston, Harry Potter will always be my favorite. q: Rank your family members cooking skills (from best to worst).a: – Dad: love his cooking 10/10 – Mom: can make damn good cookies. 10/10 baker. 3/10 cook – Creighton: questionable 6/10 – Trevor: ehhh, I honestly don’t know. I’d say based on fam reviews 5/10 – Brendan: not sure if I’ve had his cooking. If his wife Lyndsie is cooking, 10/10 – Kai: he’s pretty good but limited with what he’ll make 8/10 – Red: makes a mean avocado toast but not sure he can do much more ? 4/10 – Asher: hmmmm, she can bake! But ahh, cooking is 2/10 – Oslo: eats it all like a pro. Always a 10/10 ? q: Favorite tinted moisturizer?a: Saie beauty has an awesome tinted moisturizer! It’s my go-to. q: Get a proofreader because you can’t spell very simple words.a: Have to laugh at this. Yup, I suck at spelling but also when I’m typing stories, I’m working quickly and if I spell something wrong, is it really the end of the world? Nope, most of the time I just didn’t proof before posting. For blog posts, I do have a copy editor, my mom, from day 1. She’s incredible, but can we both miss things – yeah. Is it the end of the world, nope? Just kindly let me know and I’ll fix it! With IG stories I can’t fix it without taking the content down, so I usually just leave the typo as is (my mom points them out all the time!). q: Favorite July 4 snack for a party?a: Sharing all new favorite recipes this week for the 4th!!! So many good appetizers coming (: Old recipes, I love this Everything Ranch Cheese and Pretzel Snack Mix. It’s addicting. q: favorite smell ever? I can’t resist fresh peeled oranges. Or freshly toasted coconut.a: At this moment, fresh lilacs are my favorite smell of summer. In the fall, it’s a mix of cinnamon/vanilla. I also just love the smell of the crisp fall air.
5. A quick trip to Aspen.
My younger brother, Red was in town this week to film an episode of Camp Woodward at Copper. He mentioned to my mom that’d he’d love to head back to Aspen for a couple of days to go mountain biking. We all thought it sounded fun, so that’s what we did! Well, kind of. We did head to Aspen, but Asher and I just wanted to walk around town and shop. I could only stay for a quick day trip, but everyone else spent a couple of nights at The Little Nell, which was so nice. I feel like I’ve been talking about The Little Nell for years now, so it was nice to finally see the hotel and stay with them. It’s so cute and in the most ideal location, as it’s the only hotel that sits directly at the bottom of the gondola. Super convenient in both the winter and summer. And of course, it’s visually so pretty to look out right onto the mountain. yummy pancakes at The Little Nell Asher with a mini Lady Dior bag at the Dior store When we arrived at the room and there was a cute little welcome note complete with a cheese plate and sweets from the incredible pastry chef. The hotel has 2 restaurants and 3 bars. Element 47 has incredible house-made pastas and wagyu beef. Try the rigatoni and Nell wagyu, delicious. The Ajax Tavern is just steps away from the gondola, so incredible views. Definitely order the truffle fries. And each bar is super cute and fun. the pool at The Little Nell dad and Oslo in the pool a wonderful suite at The Little Nell Oslo and my dad were able to enjoy the pool and Asher and I loved their display of Prada bags in the lobby, very “chic”. It was such a nice 2-day stay! The rest of the time we just walked around, did some shopping, and hung out. Aspen is such a cute little mountain town. If you’ve never been, I always say to come in the summer! It’s so nice, warm, and sunny, with beautiful flowers. Way different vibe than the winter! Oh, and it was in Aspen that Asher discovered the Lady Dior bag. She looks so cute with it, doesn’t she?! Dad, Mom, and Oslo at Ajax Tavern after their hike Red and Oslo at Jing for dinner my favorite little dude hiking up Ajax with Mom & Dad Mom and Oslo coming down on the gondola after their hike Asher is so grown up Red and Asher at the bottom of the gondola at The Little Nell Mom and Asher shopping a very Aspen doll house

Happy Sunday everyone! Hoping you are all enjoying our second to last weekend of August and soaking up these end-of-summer days. I know I end up saying this every year, but so crazy that September is just around the corner. I’m definitely not ready to see summer go. But as always, I’m looking forward to the autumn season, as it really is my favorite. Today, however, I’m excited for a Sunday in the kitchen creating new recipes. Then hopefully some chill time tonight. I need a good movie or TV show to watch! I might not always practice this myself, but I do have full confidence that a “slow” Sunday night, filled with planning for the week ahead, a laid-back Sunday dinner, and a little bit of “you” time, is key to a successful week. I’m going to attempt to have one of those Sunday nights. We’ll see how it goes! Which brings me to a question, how do you often spend your Sundays? Especially as we head back to school and back to more normal work days? For me, late August is invariably the time when I start organizing and planning for the busy season ahead. It’s always so much fun for me. The next few months are my favorite months of the entire year. This fall, I’ll be spending more time in New York than ever before. And come October I’ll finally be sharing something fun that we’ve been working on for months. I really am so excited! I’ve been slowly adding new recipes and autumn content ideas to my “recipe notes” that I’ve synced to all my devices. Anytime I have an idea I love, I always write it down before I forget it. Is there anything you’re hoping to see in the coming months? I love reading your ideas! They always get me thinking! Weather-wise it’s been very, very rainy here. So my biggest wish for the week ahead is to see more sunshine. We really need it! My cousin Abby was here for a quick two-night stay. She traveled here with Asher who has been in California staying with my brothers for the last week. Asher wanted to spend her last week of summer in the California sunshine, and I have to say, I was jealous. Glad she had so much fun! Asher’s 14th birthday is a week away! I don’t know what my mom is planning, but I need to find her something special. Last year I excitedly gave her her first designer bag, which was a splurge, but so fun to do. However, that’s going to be pretty hard to top this year. I need some ideas, I’m going to have to get creative! I do have a good cake recipe planned for her, so you all can expect to see that soon! I’ve had some fun with Oslo this week. He’ll come to the studio at night with my dad and help us clean. He’s currently very into his Dyson vacuum that the team at Dyson sent over (thank you guys!). Oh, and my homemade Spaghetti O’s, he’s really loving them! I think that’s all I have to ramble on about today. Oh, wait, one final thing. HBH Every Day hit 20 consecutive weeks on the New York Times best-seller list! 20 weeks is a long time y’all. I feel so loved and thankful for this incredible community and family we have! Thank you all for your continued support! Have the best Sunday!
1. Things i’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
loving…our giant white dahlias. These make me so happy. I can’t believe they grew and grew so big! Of all the herbs and flowers we grew this summer, the dahlias have been my favorite. everything in my cart…LOW. From Zara, this satin effect corset top looks designer. I love it paired down with jeans. Throw a cropped leather jacket overtop on chillier days. This midi dress is basic, but would be cute styled with a blazer and heels to dress it up. And this ribbed brown skirt with these boots. These Reformation western boots aren’t necessarily cheap, but they’re a good price for the quality. I have seen them everywhere this week. They’d actually be cute with this J.Crew Gwyneth slip dress. From & Other Stories I’m ordering this striped sweater, I love this fun silk mix mini skirt and blazer. And then the perfect cropped bomber jacket to throw on with jeans and instantly look cute. I love the length of this slit hem skirt from Mango. I’ve been eyeing the Réalisation Amber dress in Zebra. And then, my Reebok sneakers that everyone has been asking about are restocked! Love the club C 85 vegan sneakers for running errands and lunches out. And last, adore this sweet Madewell butterfly necklace.
listening to…Creating More Than You Consume on The Blond Files. Surprise! It’s me! My episode with Arielle Lorre of The Blond Files is out this week! I LOVED this conversation. It is one of my favorite podcasts I’ve done yet. In this episode, we talk about all things business, my creative process, general life, and daily routines. shopping…the Staub stoneware collection that I love so much. It’s my favorite Staub dinnerware collection yet, and it’s on sale this week! dreaming of going…Hôtel Plaza Athénée. When I eventually make it to Paris someday, this hotel looks beautiful. I’d be so excited to visit. Each room is unique, so no 2 rooms are exactly the same. dreaming of going to…Life House Hotels. These hotels are a little closer to home. They’re a cute boutique-style hotel with locations across the US and one Bali location. Any of their locations would make for a fun weekend trip. reading…Serena Williams’s Farewell to Tennis—In Her Own Words. She really is pretty incredible. A piece worth reading. loving…Rhode skincare. I was lucky enough to receive the full line of sold out products. I love the story behind the brand and most importantly, the product. I’ve only been using it for the last week, so I can’t give a full review, but so far, I’m loving it. The peptide glaze layered with the restore cream is incredibly hydrating and feels so nice on the skin. I’ve also been loving the lip treatment, which I’m really picky about. Most lip products irritate my skin. But the unscented formal has worked magic on my thin, sometimes very dry lips. You can read more about products on Vogue too. burning…Diptyque figuier fig tree candle. I have this burning now and it’s so good, especially with the figs. Summery but with a slight coziness to it that leaves you excited for fall. ordered…the Goop G.Tox dry brush. This has been on my to-order list for a while so I’m excited to test it out. shopping….autumn coats for hiking. I have my eye on a couple of down jackets from The North Face. The North Face Logo Down Parka (love that this has a hood, but it’s a little bulkier than what I want) and the 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket (this one is the right fit, but no hood). I’m going to keep looking but I do love these jackets and might just order both to try. thinking about ordering…glass pumpkins. I love these because they not only work for Halloween but Thanksgiving too. Just not sure I really need them. Also, love this cozy pumpkin pillow. And this dusty faux floral arrangement will be so pretty for fall. wanting…this soft cotton throw from Parachute. How cute is this? I love shades of brown for fall. following…Prada. I love everything they’re doing right now. I follow the brand on Instagram and they announced their partnership with Emma Waston. She’s the new ambassador for Prada beauty. She directed the shoot for their first campaign and it’s simply stunning. The teaser shot for the campaign is perfection. ordered…compostable sandwich bags. If you’re looking for easier ways to live more sustainably, check out these sandwich bags I just ordered. They’re compostable bags made from nontoxic, plant-based material. watching…24 Hours With Emma Chamberlain in Copenhagen. This video isn’t for everyone, but I loved it. Fun to watch, and Copenhagen looks like a cool city to visit. Also, the Vogue Australia cover she shared is going to become iconic. I don’t even like the pink, but I love this cover. She also did a shoot with Harpers Bazaar that I loved too. Both are stunning. loving…my West Elm clothing rack. I shared a photo of this last week, but I love clothing racks and often use them to lay out favorite looks for work trips. It’s fun for me to see everything displayed and always gets me excited to wear each look. everything in my cart…HIGH. A lot of dream purchases this week with fall pieces becoming available. I would live in this Khaite oversized jacquard cashmere cardigan. The Altuzarra Quincy dress paired with boots is the coziest fall look. If you have any black tie dinners coming up, this Self Portrait midi dress is pretty. Also, this Christopher Esber silk gown is simple and stunning. Or try a Tom Ford hoodie dress. I just love the hood. Each dress would certainly pair nicely with the new Saint Laurent quilted leather should bag. For fall boots, I’m obsessed with these Prada leather knee boots. KHAITE Admiral leather knee boots. And the Balenciaga leather ankle boots would be a go-to for everyday looks. I’m in love with the riding boot trend, the Totême riding boot is unique and perfect. Onto fall coats. This Balenciaga oversized quilted coat is the coziest thing I’ve ever seen. Equally love the Acne studios quilted coat, which is better for everyday (and more reasonably priced). And to round things out, this Khaite shearling coat is so pretty. My mom would especially love it. loving…the IS Clinical cleansing polish. I’ve use the brands cleansing complex for years. The polish they just launched is meant for deep cleansing, but it’s not drying. I LOVE the way this feels on my skin. I’ve been using it 2-3 times a week and then the cleansing complex in between. eating…fresh figs. It’s finally fig season! Our Whole Foods got fresh figs this week and I can’t stop eating them. I mostly just eat them as is, but I’m thinking about making a Fig Bourbon Cider Smash for a Saturday night cocktail. Or maybe just adding them to my favorite harvest salad. ordered…cinnamon sticks. This is random, but I always stock up on these fancier cinnamon sticks before they sell out. I love to use them for cupcakes or use them to mix up my favorite fall cocktails. snacking on…Tom’s Perfect 10 Granola. Perfect for busy mornings, afternoon snacking, and traveling. I love the classic granola, the chocolate makes it feel a little indulgent. following…Lauren Santo Domingo. The co-found of Moda Operandi, I love seeing what she is doing in the fashion space and with Moda Operandi.

4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: supplements you find helpful?a: I highly recommend trying Cymbiotika. They’re the best of the best in terms of high-quality supplements and really getting the nutrients needed. I do this combo every day: omega, b12, d3, turmeric, magnesium, and I just started their probiotic too. Of course, this is what works for me. Remember that everyone is different and will need different nutrients specifically for their body. q: I saw you have a lot of basil, any storing tips?a: I find basil hard to store once it’s picked. For me, it lasts really well in a cup of water left at room temperature for about a week. Be sure to always add fresh water to the glass every day. Basically, treat the basil like a bouquet of flowers. It works really well for me. Otherwise, I like to use the basil once picked. You can make pesto and other sauces/dressings, then freeze them for later too. I’ll do that a lot! q: I’m curious about how you are able to get so many recipes out so quickly.a: I spend a lot of time cooking, filming, and creating recipes! It’s not easy and I have so many days that I end up getting nothing completed (like today). When you’re working with a subject that literally changes the way it looks over a short time span, it gets really, really difficult. Not only is the food changing, but so is the lighting. There are so many moving variables. It can take multiple days to finish 1 recipe. But I get up and I do it every day because I love helping you all create dinners that you’re excited to put on your table. There really is no magic secret. I just put in the hours and create the recipes. Sometimes I get 2 recipes completed in a day, sometimes I get none. q: Dream vacation?a: at this very moment, Bora Bora is on the list since I just saw the prettiest videos on Brittany Xavier’s IG! Also Greece, Italy, and France. q: do you still photograph the recipes you prepare?a: I do! q: are you wearing more jewelry these days?a: Yes! I’ve especially been loving finding new rings and earrings. I’ve been late night shopping for new pieces. q: what do people say their favorite HBH cookbook is? a: well most of you who have all 3 said you couldn’t pick and love them all (thank you ?). Then I feel like it was a tie between Super Simple and Every Day! q: Which cookbook is your favorite?a: I think I have to say Every Day. It reflects the most how I cook today. But each of them is special in its own way and while I might not love all the photos, I love the books and love looking back at them!!! q: where do you get your fashion inspiration? I love your style!a: like many, I’m obsessed with the Olsens. Aside from them, scrolling Pinterest + IG. Honestly, I love scrolling through sites like Moda Operandi, Shopbop, FWRD, Net-a-Porter, and My Theresa. I look through the clothes and love to see how they styled each piece. Then, I take from that what I like, leave what don’t, and style it in my own way/how it might fit my body best.
5. Something new is coming + Fall Cocktail Saturday.
something new I received the above photo this week. I know this means nothing to you all, but it’s so exciting to me. What we’re working on is more of a fun, personal project. Nothing major, but I can not wait to share! Coming this October! If you had to guess, what do you think is coming? I will give you a hint, it’s not a book announcement Fall Cocktail Saturday 2022 On another note, Fall Cocktail Saturday is almost here! I’m thinking I will start mid-September and then share new drinks every Saturday through the end of the year. I’m brainstorming new ideas, but I’d also love to hear yours! What new cocktails do you want to see this year? Abby and Oslo

title: “Nine Favorite Things” ShowToc: true date: “2024-10-09” author: “Erin Araki”
Hey, hey!! Oh my goodness, such a week! I hope this is not annoying, but I feel so excited about everything we’re working on. It’s Friday afternoon as I write this. I usually take a Thursday or Friday away from the kitchen for an admin day. Admin days, for me, mean that I’m usually on back-to-back zoom calls, which to be honest I hate. But, we have so many exciting projects in the works, at the end of the day, I felt so happy. And overwhelmed (which I thrive on), but mostly so excited. Not to mention that we’re coming up on my most favorite time of year, which also greatly excites me. As we enter into September this week, I have all things fall content brewing in my head. I know that I will also be traveling a little more this season, so I have to work to get organized. Here’s what I know for sure. I am so excited to start cocktail Saturday up this month and then go full on come October. I’ve been ordering unique cocktail glasses in prep for the new season! Halloween drinks to come! We’ll bring back our Thanksgiving series on Instagram, as well as share out our holiday menu and my tablescape. And for Christmas, well, I have ideas! I really do love this time of year, it’s my favorite! Right now our leaves are still very green (thanks to all that rain). But I know in the next 2 weeks or so things will slowly begin to shift to fall. It’s already been super cold at night! And the grocery store definitely has pumpkins, which seems kind of early, right? Are you excited, or not ready to let summer go? Last but not least, Asher’s 14th birthday is on Tuesday! She’s heading to California with my parents to spend time with my brothers and cousins to celebrate. She’s very excited since no one from our family besides myself is currently here in Colorado. I’m sadly traveling for a shoot this week, so I will be missing her birthday. But we’ll celebrate with cake when we’re both back next week! I’m thinking that you can’t go wrong with double birthday celebrations. So we’ll make it a birthday week. I mean she’s Asher, and she’s very special, so a birthday week it is! I think that’s all on the family, work, and life front. I’m having fun getting back into my fashion side with all the traveling I’ve been getting to do. I’m also excited for one last family trip in a couple of weeks. Creighton wants to do a small trip around the 15th, which will be so nice. We’re going somewhere warm! Hoping you all have a relaxing Sunday. Enjoy this week’s post, it’s crazy that Thursday is September 1st! Tailgating season is here! fresh picked dahlias
1. Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
loving…Mx ID ghost flutes. I just received a set of these pretty champagne flutes this week. These are a higher-end item, but they’re absolutely beautiful and unique. I’ve been using them as vases for the flowers from the garden. Just so pretty. loving…Tata Harper. I’ve spoken on Tata Harper previously, as I’ve been using their eye serum. I just tested out their body cream and am now loving them both. Really incredible skincare. Also, on the skincare front, I truly LOVE the new IS clinical cleansing polish. I have been using it every 3 days or so and it’s wonderful. wanting to try…Skin Ceuticals C E ferulic serum. Everyone seems to love their vitamin C serum. This has been on my list of skincare products to try so I finally ordered. I”ll share my feedback soon. everything in my cart…LOW. I want this set from Réalisation. The chocolate sweatshirt and matching sweatpants look extra comfy and I love the rich color. Ordered this Vince scoop neck cami while it’s on sale, perfect staple. Another staple, the Agolde extended sleeve crewneck tee. The extended sleeves are so nice. The Reformation Mason pant now comes in a green pin stripe, which I think is super cute. Also from Reformation, I might need this high rise midi denim skirt. It would be so cute with tall boots or paired down with sneakers. I want to order the Wilfred vegan leather blazer in coffee bean. Again I love the rich color. The Teddy sherpa jacket from J.Crew looks so cozy, but still lightweight for the fall days ahead. For sweaters, this off the shoulder wool sweater via & Other Stories has been added to my cart. Also from & Other Stories, the perfect trench coat. Continuing on to heavier coats, my mom would love this faux shearling coat via Nordstrom. From Zara, this sequin knit dress is pretty. Love it paired with boots. Also, these Free People boots are the perfect shade for fall.
listening to…Gaby Reese on the Skinny Confidential. Really enjoyed this conversation, especially the end where she touches on her wellness practices and eating real food, fruits, vegetables, meat, and plant-based carbs. reading…Joanna Gaines and her Latest Fixer Upper House: The Castle. My mom sent this over to me. We both really enjoyed learning more about this project, and reading about the renovations and updates made. I especially enjoyed going through all the before and after photos of this beautiful castle. Such a unique and special home. Love the bathroom. dreaming of going to…Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel in Anguilla. This looks just magical. The blue waters and gorgeous resort are calling my name. Also in Anguilla, Malliouhana an Auberge Resort. Both resorts would be incredible to visit. dreaming of going… Grace Hotel another Auberge Resorts Collection. Greece looks incredible and I’m dying to travel there soon. Loved reading this travel piece on the beautiful Grace Hotel. It would be a dream to visit! wearing…comfy pajamas. McKenzie (she’s our social media girl) said she loves these organic cotton pajamas or these satin pajamas both from Nordstrom. I’d love both pairs. Added to my cart. Great price too! Going to share more PJ’s next week! So cozyy.
loving…Smith and Mara scattered diamond ring. Such a stunning ring and it sits so comfortably on my finger. It’s my favorite ring, I just love it. It’s not cheap but it’s a ring I can wear daily since it’s small and dainty. Other Smith and Mara pieces I have and love: the diamond crescent earring and diamond spiral earring, which everyone is always asking about. I know these are expensive pieces, but they’ve been kind enough to offer a discount code for you guys. Use code “Tieghan” for 20% off your order. ordered…Milos basket from CB2. I love having baskets like this throughout the home. The old basket I have was falling apart. I just ordered this and it’s going to be perfect for all my Boll & Branch throws. loving…Boll & Branch! I talk about their bedding often, but with fall coming up, I just ordered another down comforter from them. If I had to tell you to order one product from B&B, it would be the down comforter. It’s my favorite and keeps me so warm on cold Colorado nights. You can use the code TIEGHAN20 for 20% off your order. trend I don’t love…ballet flats. They’ve never excited me. Trend I am loving…sneakers. I got these Reebok’s the other week. Originally, I wasn’t sure how felt about the sneaker trend, but I’m into it. I now love the Reebok’s I got. recommending…travel backpacks. I haven’t personally tested this bag out, but for $50 it looks like an incredible travel bag that also fits my computer, which is rare and super important to me. I use and love my Senreve backpack every time I travel, but if you’re looking for even more room, this backpack looks amazing. eating…ground chia seeds and ground flaxseed. Both are rich in Omega 3’s and great sources of healthy fats and fiber. I’ve been sprinkling them onto avocado toast, quinoa, and mixing them into smoothies. Or even just eating them by the spoon. I actually love the taste! wearing…Rhode peptide lip treatment. I didn’t think I needed this product, but now that I’ve been using it, I am in love. It’s so pretty on the lips. I love the unscented, but both the salted caramel and watermelon slice are the prettiest shades. The salted caramel would be so great for fall. It’s so good. everything in my cart…HIGH. Dress-wise, this Staud jersey dress is stunning for a night out this fall. Also, how beautiful is this Saint Laurent wool crepe maxi dress? I love the white deep V dress, but also adore the black backless dress too. Stunning. A maxi dress with long sleeves is so my kind of dress (maybe because it’s always cold here!). For something a little more laid back, The Gia dress in animal print from Réalisation. And if you’re in need of a wedding dress, the Danielle Frankel Lennon dress is so pretty. Moving onto coats, you can never have too many blazers, but this Saint Laurent leather blazer is oh so special. And this Rick Owens long sleeve hoodie coat is perfection. I would happily and excitedly wear this every day this fall/winter. Love this Totême country jacket. An updated classic. And lastly, this Ganni quilted jacket is perfect for rainy fall days. And on to pants. I’m loving satin for fall and these Vince satin wide leg pants are on my to-get list. From Valentino, love the look of these blue wash, wide leg jeans, camel cashmere pullover, and ivory hooded coat. And then these Valentino over-the-knee boots – gorgeous! More fall boots, I love, love the Versace platform bootie. A fall staple boot. Also on the boot front, the Prada monolith leather chelsea boot. Cute and practical for everyday wear.
drinking…collagen. Every morning in my coffee. Collagen has many benefits, it revitalizes dull, fragile hair, helps to minimize fine lines and wrinkles, supports dehydrated skin, and repairs brittle nails. I mix it into my morning coffee and don’t even know it’s there. I use Vital Proteins unflavored and love it. Do you drink collagen? Some people say it’s just a bunch of hype, but I don’t know, I’d like to believe it’s working! watching…Capturing Home. Stylist (Kate) and photographer (Amy) design personalized spaces for homeowners and their families. It’s really cute show if you love interiors. reading…The 11 Things in L.A. I Always Want to Eat. So many new spots to add to my list. I really want to go to Petit Trois and Mother Wolf. curious to try…MAD et LEN black champaka candle. For a candle, this is expensive. But people have been mentioning it everywhere, so now I’m curious. This is a new-to-me brand, has anyone burned their candles?

4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: how do you stay healthy with all that you cook?a: In general, cook with real food, nothing processed (for the most part/day-to-day). Shop mostly the perimeter of the grocery store (produce, meat, seafood, dairy). Go full fat all the way. Just real, simple, wholesome food. That’s pretty much it. This is obviously not perfect. And I fully believe in letting yourself enjoy the damn cookie if you want the cookie (: I know this is cliche, but moderation is the key to a balanced life. q: what is your skin type? Dry? Acne? Forever clear?a: I have super dry skin that tends to be on the sensitive side. I try to keep my skincare pretty much fragrance free and very heavy on the moisture. Especially since I live in such a dry climate. q: I don’t know your story, how did you start your business? How did you begin doing what you love?a: Hi!! So many new people this week so I figured I’d try to quickly answer this one. I started HBH just out of high school and freshly 19. I was supposed to attend fashion design school in LA (FIDM). But after living and working in the city over the summer, I turned around and came home. Ever since I can remember I always said I wanted to go into fashion. I’ve loved putting looks together all my life and spent weekends with my grandma shopping. Coming home was not my ideal situation and I felt pretty lost/not sure of my next move. I didn’t want to spend money on traditional schooling when I wasn’t even sure what to major in. Plus, I’d never liked school. I had been cooking for my family since middle school, and also around that time began reading a few blogs. It was actually my mom who really pushed me into starting HBH. We’d taken out the domain name 1 year prior when the family was in Mt. Hood for the summer. I never touched the site until I came back from LA, and that’s when we started HBH. Literally started and never looked back. I think in all these years (almost 10!!!) I’ve only missed only a handful of blog posts. I’ve shared more recipes and content than I could ever count. Looking back is honestly the coolest. We’ve come soo far and have soo much happening. Especially this year! q: how old were you when you made the first cookbook?a: I was 23 (almost 24) when the first book was published. So I was 22 and 23 while creating it. q: what are some everyday things worth investing in while in your early 20s?a: A cast iron skillet, you’ll have it forever. Like forever. I’ve had my Staub skillets for years and they still look new. I use them every day, they are certainly my favorite. Investment pieces you love. Jeans + blazer + a timeless bag that always makes you feel good. Splurge on the pieces you can have forever and wear a lot. Save on the trendier items. q: find any new podcasts to listen to lately? a: My brother has me listening to Smartless and I’ve been into The Blonde Files Podcast too. But I could use some new ones!! Typically I love to listen to podcasts where I learn something or business podcasts. q: fav midrange clothing store brands?a: try shopping the Shopbop under $200 section, & Other Stories, and honestly, Abercrombie, they have some really cute pieces right now. J.Crew is great for basics. Mango is really awesome too. And of course, Zara. q; can you share your Ariel Gordon discount code?a: If people use this link it will auto apply. q: how do you clean your cast iron skillets? A friend swears you are never supposed to clean it?!a: Yes! Exactly that! I really don’t clean them. We rinse them under warm water. Then I like to dry them over an open flame on the stove to ensure they don’t get any rust (which my @staub_usa cast iron never has). People think cleaning cast iron is complicated but it’s actually the easiest. Warm water is all you need. The oils left from cooking continue to season the skillet over time, making the skillet cook even better! Yes, I swear the skillet gets better over time and with less harsh cleaning! Just rinse it off and dry it well! q: do you think a new blog can have success?a: Yes, it is a saturated area, however, bring something new and different to the table. Work harder than everyone else, hone in on what makes you unique, and connect with your community. The community is everything. Always be working to create content they want to see. Make the community the happiest! And have an email list! Don’t rely on social media alone!!!
5. Something you splurged on?
I got this idea from A Cup of Jo and thought it was fun! I used to be the person that would not buy herself barely anything new unless it was essential. And if I did, I’d ultimately end up returning it because I felt “guilty” or not “worthy” of something new. As I grow and continue working to build our business, I’m coming to the realization that you have to let yourself enjoy things! And I’m trying to do just that! Growing as an adult, learning more, and hopefully becoming wiser. So this year, I bought myself my first designer bag, a Prada. I love it so much and know I will have it for many, many years to come. And maybe one day it will be Asher’s. It took me forever to make this purchase, but I don’t regret it. When I travel for work, it gives me a new confidence. Sounds silly, I know, especially since a designer bag is very much a want and not a need. Nonetheless, I’ll take the extra confidence! What is something you have splurged on that makes you so happy? A vacation? A designer item? A new home? That pricy designer lipstick? And my favorite affordable purchases? Snif candles, Merit beauty products, and anything from Zara Home, which I swear is the best-kept secret. They have some of my favorite kitchen pieces and go-to gold silverware that everyone always asks for.
6. Happy Birthday Asher.
My favorite sister Asher (yes, she’s my only sister) will be turning 14 this Tuesday! She has spent her first official year as a teenager, really becoming a teenager. I can’t believe how much she has grown this year, how much she has matured, and what a young woman she has become. She’s a real “boss” these days and I swear one day she’s going to be president or run her own company. She knows how to take charge. She’s fallen in love with online shopping, interior decorating, and has a strong desire for travel. She’s also been the world’s best big sister to Oslo. Watching the two of them together is so cute. She’s helped me refine my closet, pack for trips, and is a pro at stealing all my top skincare products. She really is a special one and we love her! Sharing a few favorite photos from this past year. You’ll see just how much she has grown!

Well, what a week it has been! I feel like the last ten or so days have been non-stop between travel, fitting in work calls, meetings, zooms, and life in general. After a week plus of traveling, including 3 destinations with 3 different time zones, I was definitely ready to be home come Thursday. I’ve spent the last few days getting organized, catching up on emails, grocery shopping, packages, cleaning, and of course cooking. Finally feeling back to normal, but whoa what a week. August is always so crazy. And with more travel on the calendar, I don’t expect it to slow, which to be honest, I love. I love the business, I love the hustle, and what’s even crazier is that I’ve been loving the travel. Which in the past, I’ve always struggled with. It’s actually been really fun. I love being out and about, getting dressed up, meeting with people, and everything in between. It’s crazy that we’re already halfway through August though. September is so close! I believe I let off last week with details from my LA trip. From LA, I flew to Chicago where I was very warmly welcomed by The Peninsula. Wow, what a beautiful and classic hotel. I’ve discovered that the one thing that’s made traveling easier for me is a super nice hotel. Or just a hotel that’s cute and can feel like a home away from home. Even if it’s just a one-night stay, it really does make all the difference for me. The hotel had the nicest cheese plate waiting for me when I arrived. As well as a chocolate display of Chicago, it really was amazing. And of course, the room was incredibly nice (including the bathroom – bathrooms are so important to me). Spacious, warm, and very comfy. I was sad to leave this sweet little hotel, but I only had one meeting in Chicago and then it was off to New York. Once in New York, I stayed at The Bowery, which is a New York classic. The rooms are small, but it’s cute and fancy and it very much has a “New York vibe”. If you decide to stay, be sure to eat at Gemma, the restaurant attached to The Bowery. It’s one of my favorite Italian spots in the City. I also love Via Carota in West Village, it’s classic. I actually first ate there years ago with my mom. Fun fact, this is where she learned she loves olives! Anyway, I had meetings during the day, then a fun dinner at Dante in West Village. A very quick trip in and out of the city. But I did get to explore a little before heading home. Sharing all the photos below! Meanwhile, the family spent the week together soaking up the southern California sun and heat. From the looks of it, they had a lot of fun. They took mostly videos, so sadly I can’t share those here, but if you follow on Instagram I shared some of what they’ve been doing last night on stories. Honestly, they’re mostly cute videos of Oslo. We are obsessed with him. I think that’s everything for the week! Happy to be home for a bit and hoping for some beautiful end-of-summer weather coming in the next few weeks! Have the best Sunday!
1. Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
loving…Set Active. I’ve worn this half-zip hoodie and sweatpants look so much. It’s so comfortable for long travel days. I also love their uniform tee and mid tee. loving…Cuyana pouches. Complete the look with these silk trousers. From Reformation, this skirt would be cute with these boots. I love this cashmere crew and cashmere short sleeve. Great basics and both affordable under $200 cashmere pieces. Love this cropped shirt and blazer look from Abercrombie. This Skims ribbed camisole is another super cute piece. And lastly, I have these Alo muse shorts and love them. So comfy. loving…our new Dyson vacuums. I’ve never been excited to vacuum. BUT, we finally (finally), upgraded the ancient Kirby vacuums we have, to the cordless Dyson vacuums. Oh my gosh, my life is better with these. They’re quick, there is no annoying cord getting in the way, and most importantly, they really work. Oh, and they’re so light. I really do love mine. I have one in my house and one in the studio. I don’t shop at Ikea often, but I read about this vase and it’s a genius idea. The rings at the bottom of the vase hold the stems at an angle and create space between the flowers. This vase will help you be able to easily create an arrangement of flowers using fewer flowers. everything in my cart…HIGH. Let’s start with bags, this YSL bag is very pretty. It’s set to be the “it” bag for fall. These knee high boots from The Attico are beautiful. A pair you can have forever that will never go out of style. The detailing on this embroidered silk midi skirt from Des_Phemmes is so pretty. Same with this crystal-embellished tulle gown from Retrofête. Love this Staud perry suede bag and also these chocolate suede pumps from The Attico. And finally, this Janessa Leone hat screams fall. I like the black color. ordered…this loopy vase from Shopbop. It’s expensive for a vase, yet unique. Also, I love that Shopbop carries home items now too. watching…a Copenhagen House Tour via Architectural Digest. 4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: good basic ribbed white/black top with quarter sleeves? a: Reformation Muse Tee. Comes in black, white + multiple other colors. q: when will you come to Europe? a: Someone please invite me to Europe!!! I want to stay at Le Meurice Paris, eat at a LouLou restaurant, and see everything. Go to the vineyards, walk the streets, shop the shops. I’m dying to go to the Amalfi coast. My list is long – I’ll get there soon!! q: do you ever feel like you just don’t want to cook? a: Yes!! Absolutely. Sometimes more than others. If I’m not wanting to cook I try to do something else but sometimes I have to re-inspire myself with different styles. New dishes help to excite me. I love shopping RW Guild…scrolling their site now. Also, Crate and Barrel and Zara Home have incredible finds too. Just something new and different so I can feel excited to create again. But not going to lie, sometimes it’s hard. q: which swim suites have been your favorite? a: both Asher and I have been loving this Frankies Bikinis ribbed Tia top and ribbed Tia bottom. They’re so cute. q: who picks the VRBO/hotel?a: That would be my mom, who can be heavily influenced/dictated by Asher. q: just want to say that I love how haphazard you are with dumping or pouring things in your videos. a: Yeah I just go for it. Everyone has been asking if I do this on purpose, definitely do not. It’s literally just how I cook/bake. I’m a mess, but at the end of the day, everything is CLEAN. It’s a weird control thing I have. It’s always nice to turn the mess into something clean! Basically, what I’m saying is that I’m crazy. q: Have you read all the Harry Potter books? What is your house? a: yes, it’s the only book series I’ve ever read front to cover. Though I did listen on tape. I think I would be in Gryffindor. q: what’s up with the legs up the wall? I am doing it because you did, but I don’t know why.a: ? literally every other question is about this tonight!! So I do it for 10-15 minutes. It helps reduce inflammation from being on my feet all day. It increases circulation, helps with digestion, relieves stress/anxiety, increases sleep quality, and drains the body of excess fluids. It’s been a game changer for me and is especially important after flying too. Now that it’s a part of my routine, I hate not getting it in. It’s super relaxing for me and I just work on my phone while I do it. q: how do you balance work + life?a: Very poorly to be honest. My work is my life. It’s hard because I love what I do soo much and want to work all hours on it. It doesn’t help that my family is also a part of the business. I’ve been making more of an effort to take time at night, travel just for fun, and have conversations not just about what’s happening with HBH. But it’s not balanced by any means. Baby steps I guess. I will say, I think we have seasons in life, and this is just a season. Will it always be like this? No, but right now I’m enjoying it! q: do you eat leftovers?a: Sure do. I think there are a lot of foods that actually taste better leftover. And a lot of leftovers that can be reinvented into something new and even more delicious. We love leftovers. q: what foods did you eat endlessly as a kid? a: Pierogi and carrots (usually dipped in ranch). q: is it possible to start a food blog with just an iPhone as a camera?a: Absolutely. I use my phone more than my DSLR camera now. I do think it’s best to have both, but if all you have is your phone, that will totally work!!
5. Some fun packing tips.
Determine the vibe/mood Is it a tropical vacation? A work trip? Family wedding? Ask yourself what the vibe/mood is for the trip to get a general idea of the clothes you want to pack. Make a mood board This is fun if you have the time. You can create a Pinterest board and/or Instagram folder full of looks that are inspiring you depending on the location or vibe of the trip. Pull pieces Go through your closet and pull what you think you want to bring. Start to put together looks in your head or even try some on. Then decide if you want or need anything new for the trip. Try on looks or put looks into a PDF Take photos on your phone and organize them into a folder within your photos. These will be so nice, trust me! When you don’t know what to wear, just look through those for inspiration. Or make a PDF that looks like what I have below with photos of each piece. Try on the outfits too, but the PDF is fun! My brother’s girlfriend Caitlin, who is a stylist in LA, does this and it’s incredible. Make a packing list Create an itemized list of everything you need to pack. This is essential and will take all the stress out of packing. If you’re a visual person, you can make an itemized list with photos that go through every item to pack.

Hi, hi from New York. It’s been such an incredible few days here and the weather has been perfect. The cool thing about this trip is that it hasn’t been jam-packed and I am trying to embrace that. When I travel, I pack my trips to the brim with events, meetings, and work. I don’t leave time for much else. But this trip is a little different. I had to stay through the weekend for something I’m filming tomorrow, so the weekend means more time to explore. I spent some time wandering around Central Park, walking 5th Avenue, and meeting with people I know in the city, including some fun drinks yesterday. Nothing crazy, but nice to explore and also have time in my room to catch up on things! Sharing some more details later in the post! Obviously, travel has been a little more of a focus this month and will be into October. It’s been fun and I love the busy schedule. After New York, I should be home for the remainder of September. Although, Creighton really wants us all to head to Miami. I have to admit, that does sound fun. I loved Miami. October will be busy with two trips already on the calendar, and such an exciting launch! But I’ll be happy to spend the rest of the month at home. It’s my favorite month weather-wise in Colorado. The leaves were just starting to show some fall color. I can’t wait. Going to soak it all up. Planning lots of sunset walks with my mom, which have been my favorite recently. Hoping to squeeze in as many as possible before the weather turns. Back home, the family is all good! I was finally able to give Asher her birthday gift, a white Staud shoulder bag. She loved the clean look and lines. At first, she thought she might want a smaller version, but the smaller version has a little different look. Ultimately, she realized it might be nice to have a slightly bigger bag to throw a little sweater in. Asher is very particular and knows what she wants. Oslo is, of course, the cutest, we just love the little guy. Though he has been showing much more of a toddler-like “attitude”. Crazy that he will be 2 soon! He’s been getting so much better at talking over the last few weeks, it’s crazy! You can tell that being able to use his words makes him so excited and happy. He was starting to get frustrated not being able to express what he wanted. That’s it from me! Have a wonderful September Saturday! Is anyone headed out to apple pick?
1. Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
loving…Zara home early fall launch. Best kept secret when it comes to home decor. The porcelain collection is beautiful, I ordered these mugs. I also love the glass cappuccino mug and coffee glass. ordering…Guest in Residence. This is Gigi Hadid’s new label that she just launched. It’s the ultimate collection of 100% cashmere pieces. As you can imagine, I love every piece. Cashmere is without a doubt my favorite material, especially on cold Colorado days. Ordered the hoodie and pants. Also loved reading her interview with Vogue. wanting…the new KitchenAid blossom stand mixer that just launched at Williams-Sonoma. This is pretty and I just love that copper bowl for fall. Maybe it’s time for a giveaway? everything in my cart…low. A lot of Zara finds today. This squared black dress is a great going-out piece. I would add a cute shoulder bag. If you’re looking for something cozier, try this knit dress. Also, love the blue. Carrying on with knits, this knit top is perfect for layering with jeans. Try a knit jacket or leather jacket over. Lastly, I want this knit sweater. For coats, a denim puffer is fun, or a buttoned overshirt. Also, this Free People faux leather trench is a fun color. And for shoes, I love these sneaks, such a good color for fall. From Nordstrom, a turtleneck sweater is a must, the camel is a nice fall color. And then some of my favorite jeans are on sale. Re/done stovepipe jeans, Mother wide leg jeans, and Agolde black flare. Keeping with denim, from Mango, I’m very into this midi skirt. And from Alo, these split leggings are cute. listening to…Chervin Jafarieh #3 via The Skinny Confidential. Excited to listen to this one. I love hearing about how these three approach health and wellness. There is always so much information and valuable takeaways packed in these episodes. also listening to…Mark Zuckerberg via Joe Rogan. My cousin, Abby, recommended this one. She said it’s long, but an interesting listen. reading…20 New Books You Need to Add to Your Fall Reading List. Some spooky picks on here! ordered…Cle de Peau. Going to go into details on this next week because I’d never pay this much for makeup, but there is a reason for it. watching…Anna Wintour Answers Vogue’s 73 Questions. I love this series. Fun that they finally did an episode with Anna Wintour, the long-time Vogue editor. And if you’re a Jennifer Lawrence fan, her episode is out this week too. ordered…from Free People maxi puffer for my Mom. I know she is going to live in this jacket. Also ordered the gatherall bra. This is backless and strapless, so it works for lower-cut tops. loving…Mini Zoo USA handmade glass cups. These are so fun. Thinking I might order a few for holiday cocktail glasses as well. The Halloween set is adorable. And for Christmas, I LOVE the reindeer (so sweet), the Santa hat is also cute, and the snowman is fun too. planning…11 Fall Weekend Ideas to Try This Year That Don’t Cost a Ton. These are fun. I just love a fall weekend. I want to go pumpkin shopping. Or maybe make these apple cider doughnuts, grab a good coffee, and then go pumpkin shopping. eating from… Trader Joe’s. Mckenzie, from our team, recommended the Trader Joe’s buffalo seasoned almonds. I had some time this week and got curious about Trader Joe’s (we don’t have one). So I spent 30 minutes wandering the Trader Joe’s isles. They have so many good things: cauliflower mash for convenience, pretzels slims, Gochujang Paste – my favorite to use in sauces. And then I picked up some of their dark chocolate peanut butter cups too. YUM! loving…the Helsa collection. This just launched this week and I think everyone is obsessed with it. So many cute pieces for fall and very much my style. Basic, but elevated. I ordered a few things, but love the bomber jacket, puffer jacket, and maxi skirt (in ecru). Read her Vogue interview for more details. everything in my cart…high. This long camel coat from Favorite Daughter is a staple piece. So is a good cropped brown jacket. And then this bomber jacket is a very fun pink. I would live in this striped cashmere sweater from Khaite. A great blazer from Anine Bing, I love the army green. And last, this long leather blazer from Reformation is pretty. How special are these pleated satin pants? Love the rich color. Or this pair of leather trousers from 16 Arlington. For a bag, all about a good Gucci suede bag. drinking…the designer menu at Bergdorf Goodman. The store asked recognizable names in the fashion industry, including Michael Kors (Kors Krush), Carolina Herrera’s Wes Gordon, Sergio Hudson, and Christopher John Rogers, to curate a list of cocktails for fashion week. How pretty does the “Rose Valentina” (made with Japanese whiskey) sound? Very fun! gifting…fun preserves from V Smiley. Just an online shop with unique fruit preserves. These would be fun hostess gifts. shopping…Ring Concierge, a luxury jeweler. I learned about them through the Life with Me podcast and found the interview really interesting and immediately wanted to shop the site. Obviously, this is high-end jewelry, but if you’re looking for a wedding ring or fancy holiday gifts, I love this site. I’d also recommend listening to the founder’s podcast episode too. curious to try… stain removing towelettes. Hard to believe these work, but I think I’m going to have to try them. I am the girl who should not be wearing white. brainstorming…new fall salads. Any requests? I just LOVE a harvest salad.

4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: favorite restaurants in LA?a: So far I have really enjoyed John and Vinny’s. Their cacio e Pepe was out of this world. If you go to the Sunset Tower Bar get the bread basket for sure. Croft Alley for brunch was really awesome, we just got the kale salad (which is surprisingly awesome) this time, but the waffle is the way to go. The eggs also looked amazing. q: which Harry Potter is your favorite? I have been wanting to know this for a while!a: I love them all. The first 2 are always my go-to comfort movies. But I love the last 3 because we get to see how the story finally unfolds. Deathly hallows part 2 is bitter-sweet. I love the book/movie but hated that the series was now over. q: making a wedding registry, what kitchen essentials do you recommend?a: Definitely a solid, everyday dinnerware set that you’d love to entertain with. Good glassware – both drinking glasses and staple cocktail glasses, I’d do stemless wine glasses personally. Get a nice silverware set. Linens, but only if you love to entertain. Then, if you’re baking and cooking a lot a stand mixer and food processor. A cast iron set is a must, but at the very least a skillet and a Dutch oven. A cutting board + knives are also essential. An espresso machine if you love coffee. Skip the knick-knacks. q: do you get stressed when traveling?a: Yes! Especially when travel plans are a little all over the place like with this current trip. But all has worked out! So happy about that! I’m getting better about not stressing so much. The more I travel the better I get! I’m actually learning to enjoy it! q: what are some of the staples you always have in the kitchen?a: Tons of produce – avocado, carrots, greens, broccoli, peppers, lemons, seasonal fruit, pineapple, mangos, bananas, lemons, and limes. And cheese, always Parmesan and pepper jack cheese. Then some good bread, eggs, and goat milk. Oh, and spices are key!!! Also, pasta, rice, dry grains, baking ingredients, garlic, and shallots. q: more details on your greenhouse? Do you grow things in the winter? a: So many questions about this, and our basil. So the honest truth is that we really don’t do anything special. Good soil (we bought it) and we started from seed. The greenhouse is key for us because it gets so cold here at night, sometimes even dropping below 32 degrees in the summer. The greenhouse also protects the herbs + flowers from the intense storms we’ve had this summer. And then tons and tons of water + sun. We don’t grow anything in the winter. We actually haven’t tried but I would imagine it’s just too cold. q: when you put your legs up at night, where do you do it? On your bed with your legs straight up?a: Normal people use a bed, and when I’m traveling I do too. But I’m super weird and I sit on the floor and work all the time. It’s cozy to be by the oven, so currently, my legs are here against the oven. I keep them at a slight angle, they don’t have to be completely straight. And I usually have them up for 15-20 minutes. Sometimes longer if I get distracted and am staring at my phone. But you really only need 10 minutes, even 5 is great to get some benefits. q: what’s the key to raising siblings to be as close as you all are?a: We always did things together as a family. Dinners every night (chaotic because so many kids and not a fancy sit down, but we ate together). Weekend trips, big trips, holidays, grocery shopping, everything was always together and with the family. If we wanted to have friends come, we could. It was always the more the merrier in our house. And my parents just did a good job of making us hang together but never forcing it. We’ve just always enjoyed being around each other. We kept ourselves busy!! q: is there a way you preserve some of your herbs for winter?a: You can make batches of pesto and other herb-based sauces. Then freeze them in things like ice cube trays or sandwich-size bags/glass containers. You could also dry them, but that’s a bit more of a time-consuming process. I’m sure people have other ideas too. Personally, I try to make as many recipes as I can with the herbs, then freeze those dishes for dinners on busy nights. Think pasta, soups, chilis, sauces, casseroles, salad dressings, lasagna, herb bread, etc.
5. New York so far.
My New York trip isn’t complete just yet, one final day tomorrow, but it’s been such a nice trip so far. When I left Colorado, I wasn’t sure how this trip was going to go. I was coming into the city to tape a segment for the Drew Barrymore show on Thursday. But I needed to stay through the weekend for what I’m filming tomorrow. With fashion week happening, I had also received invites to a couple of shows. So I decided to just stay in the city and attend a few things. I’ve always wanted to be at NYFW so I was looking forward to it, but nervous. I will say it hasn’t been the trip I thought it would be. And fashion week is not all the glitz and glam you may think it is. There’s honestly a lot of time just spent sitting in traffic, but it sure is an experience! My trip started off with the best first day. I was invited to come on The Drew Barrymore show! Of all the talk shows I’ve been on, this one was the most fun. I loved every minute! Drew is the sweetest, and I’m excited for you guys to watch! The episode airs this Tuesday and is a part of their season 3 opening week!! We made my shrimp tacos and sweet potato nachos from the HBH Every Day Cookbook. From Drew, I headed back to my hotel. For this trip, I stayed up near Central Park at the Park Hyatt. I was nervous to stay somewhere new, but I really can’t say enough good things about this New York hotel. My stay was wonderful! The staff, food, and the room were just the best. My room came with the sleekest bathroom and an incredible view of Central Park. I felt so lucky to stay here! I’m hoping to find time to make it to their spa, a massage sounds pretty incredible. The restaurant, The Living Room, is also great! I had dinner there on Saturday night and it was yummy! I ordered the classic market salad, and Chirashi – sushi rice, with fresh mango, and the best tuna and shrimp combo. The breakfast menu is also really good, definitely try the avocado toast. Anyway, if you’re looking for a good New York hotel, I’d highly recommend The Park Hyatt!! It has been so nice here. And a big thank you to Emily at Beyond Travel for helping us find this hotel. Securing a hotel during fashion week is not an easy task, and Emily’s been such a help! Yesterday and today are filled with meetings. I did find time to meet a friend for a drink before dinner last night which was fun. More to come next week on my final day. I’ll be heading home on Tuesday and I’m excited!
6. The best foundation?
You guys know that when it comes to makeup, I can’t do it. Granted I’ve never really tried to learn. But because my mom literally does not wear makeup, I was just never taught how to do any. I have 6 brothers and was a complete tomboy. I still carry some of those traits for sure, and I’ve never been overly girly. For this reason, I just never took the time to learn makeup, so when I have big events or I’m filming I always have it done. While in New York I connected with Hailey Hoff, an LA-based makeup artist that I’ve been following. She’s amazing and does skin really well. She said her secret is Cle de Peau foundation. She said, “I know it’s a crazy amount of money to spend on magic, but I’m telling you, it’s a magic formula”. I saw the results myself, soo obviously I needed to order some. If you’re looking for a new foundation to try, maybe try splurging on some Cle de Peau. She used shade medium on me.

Happiest September! I know that it’s already the 4th, but it’s a new month, and it’s one of my favorite months of the year. With September here and Labor Day tomorrow, we’ll soon be closing out summer and moving into fall! I think we all know by now just how much I love the fall. With every autumn season, I seem to become even more excited than the previous. New fall content to create, new opportunities, and the welcoming back of all things cozy. I’m just feeling so excited for the next few months, they’re going to be great! Currently, I’m in LA, but I’ll be home in Colorado by the time you all are reading this. I have a few days home before I head back out again, this time to New York. I’ve never been in the city at this time of year so I really can’t wait. I’ll be heading into the city to tape something very special. I’ll also be experiencing a bit of my first New York Fashion Week. A little backstory, I’ve dreamt of attending NYFW since middle school. It’s always been something I hoped I would someday be able to attend. When I started Half Baked Harvest and switched over to focus more on food, I lost a little bit of the girl who loved fashion. The part of me that loved to put pretty pieces together and found inspiration in designer collections. Over the last year or so I’ve slowly started to reawaken that part of me and share it with you all. It’s been fun and I’ve found so much new inspiration throughout the process. Next week I’ll finally be making that dream of going to fashion week come true. I’m not doing what I thought I would be doing exactly, but I love the steps I took to get here. Don’t worry, I’m not forgetting about food, just doing a little bit of combing both of my favorite worlds. Cooking will always be my focus, but I need other outside interests to keep me creative and excited! So that’s my big work/life update for right now! With everything I do, I want to bring you all along with me. We have fun things coming up this fall, including a launch in October that I am beyond excited about! Moving along, my family spent Asher’s birthday with my brothers down in the San Diego area. It’s very hot in southern California right now, but we all enjoyed our trips! Happy to be home with them in Colorado for a few days. So what are you most excited for this September?
1. Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
loving…Quartzite Stonewood. I saw this stone used as a kitchen counter and fell in love with it. Maybe it’s the autumn colors that I love, but I’m now considering using it myself. It’s so pretty. I currently have quartzite counters in the studio and I love their look, feel, and durability. everything in my cart…low. From Zara, this bows knit jacket is a nice layering piece for September. This oversized striped shirt is a nice basic. And I really love their faux leather jacket. This COS long sleeve tee is the perfect shade of blue. I love these tailored wide leg pants from Abercrombie. For bags, this braided bag from Mango looks designer, just minus the price point. And then you have a cute bucket bag from J.Crew. Both are great everyday bags. All things Nordstrom, this yellow button-down paired with this black chunky cable knit sweater are fall essentials. I love this maxi skirt and would pair it with an oversized blazer or leather jacket. And finally, these are some pricier pieces to invest in. This wool coat is the coziest. And these black boots. Both are fall/winter staples that are under $300. listening to…How to Discover your Human Design on The Skinny Confidential. I’ve listened to another podcast on this topic and found the concept so interesting. It definitely gets your mind thinking about the things you were born with that can really help you succeed. burning…ok. We haven’t talked candles in a minute. At the moment I’m burning Snif’s ditch plains candle, which I love. It was the perfect summer candle. But now that we’re into September, I’m switching to their sweet ash scent. It’s an oldie, but goodie fall favorite. Other candles that I’m excited about having ordered. The Byredo chai scented candle (another oldie favorite). And Trudon cire scented candle (which is pricy but is such a special cinnamon scent). dreaming of going…Babington Soho House in Somerset, England. The prettiest grounds. I bet this is stunning in the fall. ordered…a handheld steamer for NY. I will be curious to see how well this works, but I needed a packable steamer! Updates to come. thinking of ordering…an hourglass timer. I love the idea of using this to help my workflow. Flip it and work on that same task until time runs out. following…From Lucy. Such pretty cakes decorated with flowers. She is NYC based, but if you’re looking for cake inspiration, the flowers she uses are so pretty. wanting…to try Furtuna Skin. I keep hearing about this skincare brand and would love to try their products. Has anyone been using their line? Also on my to-try skincare list, is the new Skin Ceuticals corrective essence mist. everything in my cart…high. I didn’t think I was feeling ankle boots for fall, but I love these Loewe flamenco boots. I also adore these Prada leather slingback pumps. Classic, but updated. This Grace Ling black maxi dress is a great black dress for a night out. And I love how fun this keyhole sequined dress from 16 Arlington is. Very pretty if you love some color. bags I’m loving…obsessed with this Prada shoulder bag. And how pretty is the new Gucci blondie suede bag? And then, this Fendi shoulder bag, it’s so pretty and sure to become a classic Fendi piece. Lastly, this Chloé woody embroidered leather tote in black or brown is on my list. I’d love this for traveling. I think I’d get the black. loving…this fun fleece blanket for fall. Really cute and unique. shopping…water bottles. I need to have a water bottle with me while I travel. At home, I use my Yeti, but I think I might order this hydro flask. I want the 64 ounces, but worry it may be too big to carry around. loving…16 Arlington. This brand is crazy expensive, but their pieces are so pretty and fun to look at. watching…Hocus Pocus 2 on Disney+. It’s not out until September 20th, but I am SO EXCITED. I just love all things Halloween and Hocus Pocus is a classic. Can’t wait to watch this with Asher. Also, here’s a fun list of things to watch this month. cooking…Zucchini Chicken and Rice Bake. My favorite Sunday night dinner this time of year.

4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: what is dry brushing and why do you do it? a: It’s exfoliating the skin! Some people do it in the morning for an extra energy boost, but I dry brush at night before hopping in the shower. It helps remove dead skin, keeps skin soft, unclogs pores, reduces inflammation, and eliminates toxins from the body. It has changed my skin from being so dry and scaly to baby soft and smooth. Highly recommend q: how many pictures/videos do you take while making a recipe?a: No idea but at least 100? It’s a lot. I go through and heart all the videos I will use, then remove the rest. q: how many horses do you have? Does your family take care of them?a: I wish I could say these guys are ours, but they are our neighbors. I would LOVE to have a couple of horses in the very near future however ? q: what do you do when people steal your recipes as their own?a: Absolutely nothing. People know my recipes, they know from my photography style, my video style, and by the ingredients I use + the way I combine them. It’s pretty unique to me. No one can exactly replicate my recipes and make them just like I do. I’d never accuse anyone of doing so. It’s flattering people find my recipes inspiring to make. They should take the inspiration and then reinvent the recipe in their own personal way! It will actually end up even better than simply trying to replicate mine to a T. Basically what I’m saying is that I just don’t care, nor have the time to worry about it ??♀️ It’s food and people shouldn’t take it so seriously. Just make what you love and share what you love! q: why do you make your recipe titles so long? Just curious!a: Ugh. I just cannot leave any of the good stuff out! I want you guys to know right away what’s happening with the recipe. But most importantly I want it to sound really, really delicious. I used to be even worse and have 2 sentence titles but I’m getting better!! q: if you could go back to your younger self, what would you tell her?a: One, enjoy the time when you’re young. While life is amazing as an adult, it comes with much more stress and responsibility. I spent too much time stressing as a kid. Have confidence in yourself and know you can do so much more than you ever imagined. Embrace what makes you different and unique. To this day confidence doesn’t come easily for me. But confidence is everything and you can do so much more than you think. q: do you have a “work phone” for your content versus life? a: This is so random! I’ve never gotten this question, but oddly it’s something I was just talking about yesterday since my phone was broken. I only have one phone, but maybe I need a work phone? q: how did you learn food photography? Any courses you’d recommend? a: I didn’t take any courses or have any schooling. I just learned through trial and error. Consistently shooting every day and really working to find my style of photos. I am a hands-on learner, so I learn more by doing than anything else. Anything I didn’t know about the camera I googled or texted my brother and just figured it out. I’d never call myself a pro. I always recommend to search “food photography” on Pinterest to find inspiration for different photography styles and ways of styling food. Find what you enjoy then try to recreate it but in your own unique way. q: I am remodeling my kitchen, what are the top 3 must-haves?a: I love having a large island to work on. A big sink to stack dishes in. And I love a double-sided fridge + freezer unit so I can fit large pans in both the fridge and freezer. I don’t love units with the freezer on the bottom. There never seems to be enough room. And then I prefer a gas cooktop with an electric oven unit. But these are all just my personal preferences! q: what would you cook for a party of 12-15 people?a: I always say lasagna or pizza. Lasagna being the easier of the two since you can completely prepare it ahead of time. Plus lasagna can be modified with seasonal ingredients. For that large of a group, I would make one meat-focused lasagna and one vegetable. This way everyone has something to enjoy. Just prepare both the day before and then bake them while guests arrive. The house will smell incredible and be very welcoming. Salad on the side is a must!
5. Top 5 things to do in September + Inspiring me.
- apple picking! It’s a must. Have you gone? I’ll be in New York a bit this year, so it would be fun to do this upstate. It looks magical. Then, I want to make apple cider, apple butter, and my all-time favorite cookie, chewy brown sugar maple cookies.
- start transitioning the home to all things cozy. Splurge on a cashmere throw blanket (up until last year, I didn’t know about cashmere blankets, but they’re very special), order candles, and find pretty dried florals to really create the moody, fall vibes.
- Go for a hike and take in all the fall foliage. Our trees are just starting to turn. I give it two, maybe three weeks and we’ll be at peak fall foliage.
- organize! In prep for fall and the holidays, take a Saturday or Sunday to organize the kitchen and pantry. Order pretty ribbon and holiday wrapping paper and start to prep for the busy season ahead. I know it’s early, but you’ll be happy you did (and such a better selection!).
- make a fall arrangement with all the in-season dahlias. My favorite. inspiring me (from Pinterest)
6. Small LA Recap.
To be honest, I don’t love coming to LA. I’ve decided that at heart I’m such a midwest girl. So for that, I love going to New York. But everything I come to LA to do, I love. From meetings to photoshoots, to dinners out at the best LA spots. This trip was probably my best LA trip yet. I was overwhelmed with all the exciting things coming up, it was just so fun. I had meetings on my first day in town, which went incredibly well and left me feeling so grateful for all of you. You’ve helped me create the fun things we’re now getting to work on! But Friday was by far the really fun day. We had an incredible photoshoot. It was SO VERY DIFFERENT for me, so prepare yourselves. I got to dress up and be someone a little bit different for the day. I can’t wait to share more. Sharing some photos below! Then home on Saturday. Very short, but oh so sweet. stayed at the West Hollywood Edition – always one of my favorites! dinner on Thursday night below are photos from the house where the shoot took place
Taylor came! So fun having her with me

Thursday marks the start of Fall! I so am excited, but also wonder how it can be that we are already entering the final months of the year. October is coming, Halloween is on the horizon, then Thanksgiving and Christmas are already in the planning. In the blink of an eye, it’s going to be January. I’m ready for fall, but not ready for this year to end. It’s definitely going by way too quickly. All we can do is try our best to take every day as it comes. Celebrate the small stuff (which I fully admit I am horrible at doing). And do our best to enjoy every moment of these very special days. Because to me, every day from now through December really is so special. Lots of excitement in the air! Is there anything you are looking forward to over the next few months? I returned home from New York Tuesday (more on the last few days, plus The Drew Barrymore show below), and have been catching up on things at home ever since. It’s only a 2 hour time difference between New York and Colorado, but the shift always throws me off a little. Wednesday was a mix of emails and cooking, then back at it on Thursday with some fall baking. I was in the mood! We have had three days of moody weather. Lots of cool-looking clouds, a little sunshine, and colder temperatures, even some snow up on the mountain peaks. So it was easy to embrace the fall spirit. To be honest, I don’t think I will end up sharing the recipe I made on Wednesday, but I can’t wait to share the sweet treat I baked up on Thursday. I haven’t been in the baking mood all summer, but the fall season brings out my excitement for sure. I spent some time with Asher who’s been a huge help managing all the clothes from recent trips. She loves going through the orders, laying out the pieces, and seeing what she loves the most. She especially loved the NYFW looks, which I will say, have been some of my favorites too! She’s been amazing with helping with the returns too! Just love her for that! Also, many of you have been asking for the link to the bag I got her for her birthday. I ended up getting her this Staud cream bag. Originally she wanted to find a shoulder bag that was smaller. But she loved the look of the bag so much and decided the larger size might actually be great. So she kept it! She’s been “wearing” it down to the studio every night. The cutest. Not too much coming up for the end of the month. I have some travel in October that I’m looking forward to. But for right now, I’m home and excited to dive into all things fall this week! Oh, well last thing, October 11th is Oslo’s 2nd birthday! How crazy is that? He came home at only six pounds on the dot and is now close to 30. My mom isn’t sure what to do to celebrate, any fun ideas? Asher really wants to head back to Cleveland, so maybe she’ll do a big family party there. But my mom is also tossing around the idea of a more local fall foliage trip to Crested Butte. Both Taylor River Lodge and Scarp Ridge Lodge in CB are supposed to be amazing experiences. And the drive that time of year would be so pretty. We shall see! Have the best weekend everyone. And if you do any apple picking, be sure to see my favorite apple recipes below. And if you’re in the mood for fall cooking, I shared our top fall recipes on Friday, 45 of the most popular. SO MANY GOOD ONES. I just love fall cooking and baking.
1. Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
loving…lip products. I’ve become obsessed with the Rhodes peptide lip treatment (the salted caramel is my favorite shade) and now want to keep trying new lipsticks. On my list: Charlotte Tilbury, shade festive magic, Chanel Rouge Coco, shade Etienne, and Revlon Super Lustrous, in shade burgundy. loving…my hydro flask wide mouth. Finally ordered this for traveling and was so happy to have it with me in NY. I didn’t carry it around with me during the day, but having the bottle in my hotel room made drinking water so much easier. I made sure I drank at least 4-5 full bottles every day. On this trip, I never got dehydrated which always seems to happen to me when traveling. wanting…all things fall. Personally, I love anything apple cider over pumpkin, but I am a sucker for both. This honey pumpkin spice soap screams fall. Also, this Meyer’s liquid hand soap in apple cider is nice to have at the kitchen sink. everything in my cart (lower). Mango has some really good finds right now. I love this wool mini skirt and blazer. Cute when paired with black pumps or boots for fall/winter styling, love these high heel leather boots or cowboy leather boots. This midi skirt in brown is also super cute. And I love their biker leather jacket. On the topic of shoes, their heel leather shoe in red is giving off Prada vibes. And love this double breasted wool coat. Also, this single-breasted jacket from H&M is great too. From Zara, I love their striped knit cardigan, ribbed knit sweater, and knit polo sweater. And this satin effect dress is perfect. I love these Adidas gazelle shoes in grey/white. And lastly, this teddy sherpa jack. It’s over $150, but still somewhat reasonable for a jacket.

I really need to try one. wanting…to try the new Skin Ceuticals phyto corrective essence mist. It helps to strengthen the skin’s barrier and reduces redness. everything in my cart (high everything over $150)…How pretty is this red convertible silk gown from Carolina Herrera. I love that you can wear it two ways. Very into maxi skirts and love this denim maxi skirt by Slvrlake. I would also love this dark brown cropped quilted shell down from Khaite. Perfect for cold fall nights. Continuing on in the high wish list. From ShopBop, I love this Sandy Liang fleece jacket, this Redtrfête sab dress is pretty and the color matches with this Le Kasha cardigan. This stitched cardigan from Marni is fun and festive for the season. And I might need to order this cute Ganni wool jacket. I want to live in this Acne Studios hooded sweatshirt. These Manolo Blahnik suede boots are the perfect color. And these cashmere mittens from Gabriela Hearst sound luxurious and wonderful. Oh, and this silk dress in turmeric from Reformation is pretty too, and kind of in the middle of low/high.
drinking…my very fall-ish Ginger Apple Moscow Mule. shopping…Elsie Green. Really nice vintage pieces for the home. I love this pretty mèridienne chaise and vintage wine glasses. Her instagram is cute if you enjoy French style. watching…Melissa Wood how to dry brush. Love this so much. I dry brush every night because of her. Love the how-to video.

4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: what equipment do you use to film your videos (ring light, etc.)?a: Just my phone, a chair, 2 copper mugs, and 2 Jenga wood blocks that I use to prop my phone off the counter so I get better audio. And my hands. Very professional ? I haven’t found a tripod I like or that hasn’t broken ? q: best all-around pot and pan set for a wedding registry?a: Get the Staub 4-Piece Stackable Cookware Set. Such a good mix of pots/pans and an awesome value. q: tips for hosting when you’re trying to meet new people and provide a laidback environment? a: Cook a casual, feel-good dinner like tacos, pizza, lasagna, or something fun. Style the table super basic, but cute with little glasses of flowers down the center and maybe some candles. Nothing too fancy, just a super welcoming, warming environment. Make sure you have a good playlist on in the background. Serve cocktails/mocktails and do everything you can ahead of time so you’re not the least bit stressed. You don’t want to ruin the vibe of the night by stressing. It’s all about creating a welcoming, warming environment that people want to come back to. q: best advice for tuning out all the negative, and focusing on your goals?a: Stop caring and stop looking. Get hyper-focused on what you want and your goals. Take steps every day to get to that end goal and only worry about yourself and what you’re doing with your time. If you’re thinking negatively spend way less time on social media. Stop watching and reading what everyone else is doing. Simply focus on your goals and the steps to take to achieve them. q: advice for making a routine a habit, i.e skincare, legs up the wall, and self-care?a: I am a pro at habits/routines, sometimes to a fault. I love a good routine (: my only advice really is to make the commitment in your head to do the said habit. Example: “every night this week I am going to dry brush before showering”. Then DO IT. After a week, a routine will start to form. If you’re seeing results, you’ll just naturally want to continue to do it every day. Consistency is the key q: need a fancy floor-length gown. What’s your recommendation?a: Love these splurge-worthy gowns, a pretty green dress, strapless brown dress, or this fun tiger stripe dress. And if you want something designer, this St. Laurent dress will never go out of style. q: are you an introvert or extrovert? a: I can be both, I swear I have a switch I flip. But I’m introverted at the core. q: with such a big platform, has anyone been judgmental of you or your family? How do you deal?a: ??? yes all the time. I ignore it. It means absolutely nothing to me. It says more about the person commenting than it does on me/fam. I worry about myself and my family and nothing else. At the end of the day I know we’re happy and healthy and that’s all I care about. q: favorite home espresso machine? a: I have the Breville Oracle Touch and I’m in love with it. Not sure there is a better machine. Also, my brothers have the Breville Oracle that doesn’t have the touch screen and they love theirs too! And my cousin, Maggie, has the Breville Barista Touch and loves hers too. The Breville really is worth it (: q: best staple outfit pieces that you can dress up or down and mix it up?a: Really good jeans that fit perfectly, really good pumps, a bag you love, and button-down shirts. You can dress jeans up with heels, or down with flats/sneakers. Get a good button-down in a few colors (living in Khaite – on the high end, The Frankie Shop (these are on sale), and Reformation). And invest in a statement bag that will never go out of style. A good blazer is great to have too. Oh and trousers!! They’re super cute and casual with sneakers, but immediately go professional with pumps. Jewelry can dress an outfit up too! q: what do you do for your blog recipes when you want to travel/vacation?a: I bulk them up ahead of time so I will have new content to continue to share. Anytime I travel, it’s always so much work leading up to a trip. I’m doubling up on the number of recipes I’ll make per day and or cooking 7 days a week. q: best places to buy wedding/occasion dresses and what style do you recommend? a: Reformation always has solid options. Revolve has so many dresses right now. And I love Forward but that’s going to be a lot of designers. And you can usually find something on Nordstrom.
5. The rest of New York.
So I think I left off telling you all about the hotel, The Park Hyatt. I had said that I wasn’t able to make time for a massage, but I did!! I spent all of Sunday in and out of meetings, running from coffee to lunch, to coffee, then packing and getting ready for Monday. It was a busy, non-stop day in the city. On Sunday night the staff at the Park Hyatt Spa Nalai were incredibly kind and stayed open 30 minutes later just for me! I had a wonderful full-body massage, which I don’t think I’ve ever had. When it comes to self-care, I’ve only ventured out for facials, not much more than that. However, I’d really love to do a lymphatic drainage massage soon. I’ve heard the best things about them. Anyway, it was the perfect way to end my Sunday, and was very appreciated after the craziness of travel. It prepped me perfectly for Monday, which ended up being my favorite day of the trip. It was back-to-back busy, but just the best day. (she’s even better in person) I spent most of Monday filming with Melissa, who most of you know as Melissa Wood Health. We had the best day. We filmed some really fun workouts and recipes that I know you guys will love. But I’m most excited for the podcast episode we recorded. I loved our conversation and I think it will be really clear in everything that we share, that we really hit it off from the second we met. All will be out soon! From there I headed to a meeting, which was great. I’ll be sharing more in October. Some fun new projects are in the works! From the meeting, I quickly walked the mile back to my hotel (faster than sitting in traffic). I changed for an event and then head back out for the night. I went to a fun event that pretty much went all night (I left much earlier). But it was still late when I got back to the hotel. And that was Monday, it was my last full day in the city. I had a flight home on Tuesday. And that ended my travels for the next few weeks! It was one of my favorite trips. I really love New York. I created a highlight on instagram if any of you missed anything and are curious!

Happy Fall! Happy Autumn! It’s finally “spooky” season! The excitement I’m feeling is so nice following up the slowness of summer. I don’t why it is exactly, but this time of year makes me so happy. Don’t get me wrong, I have my days and moments of really feeling overwhelmed. If I’m being honest with myself, there are too many things I want to tackle over the next 3 months. I know it’s unrealistic, yet I really want to try. I really do love this time of year! I’ll be starting my holiday Cocktail Saturday series next week to kick off the holiday fun. Is there anything you’re looking forward to? I always like to pick one thing that I’m really excited about each month. For September, I was so excited to be able to be in New York over fashion week. I was excited to go on the Drew Barrymore show, to attend a few shows, and to speak on podcasts. It was such a great trip. For October, I again have so much to be excited about. I’m looking forward to diving into the spooky season! I’ll be sharing some fun-themed cocktails and possibly even a few Halloween-inspired desserts too. Would anyone like to see that? But most importantly, we have an exciting launch coming in October! It’s what I’m looking really looking forward to most, I can’t wait to share it! Do you think you know what it is? On the family front, we had an unexpected week and quite a scare. My brother Malachi had to have emergency surgery on his hip this week. Kai had a snowboarding accident back in middle school and had to have hip replacement. We aren’t sure how he contracted it, but somehow, he got a staph infection around his hip prosthesis. He was in intense pain for over a week so Creighton drove him to a specialist in LA. Once the specialist saw him he knew he needed surgery immediately. Creighton and Cait, Kai’s girlfriend, have been with him through it all and were so amazing. My parents, Asher, and Oslo flew out to LA to be with him too. It was a scary week, but things are much more manageable and he is now feeling a million times better. Hopefully, the surgery will work and he will be on the mend. It was honestly a really scary situation and could have ended a lot worse. We are all so thankful that he is out of pain and doing so much better. In other news, Asher has been acting as my personal assistant these days and helping so much. She unpacked all my clothes from New York, got together some returns, and even shipped them out! She’s such a helper! Oslo is also well, his second birthday is in 2 weeks! I’ll have to think of something fun to get him. He’s the sweetest little guy. That’s all for now. Hope you all find a great way to enjoy the last Sunday of September! Oh, and last but not least, if you missed it, I shared my yearly roundup of all the most popular Fall Recipes. There are definitely some great ones to try here!
1. Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try…
watching…Hocus Pocus 2 – can’t wait. It premiers on Friday on Disney+. burning…so many new candles. My favorite for fall is the Snif sweet ash candle. The warming notes and hints of vanilla remind me of fall baking. And then, I’m excited to try burning Nette’s chai milk scented candle. It smell’s just like a warming cup of Chai everything in my cart (low)…so many good finds this week. From Zara, this double-sided short jacket looks just like the Prada bomber jacket I am obsessed with. Coming in a very close second is the Mango shearling jacket. More Mango finds, I love this slit denim skirt. If you want something long, the Free People denim maxi skirt is perfect, or try their vegan maxi skirt. Back to Mango, these high wasted wide-leg jeans would be really cute with their black faux leather trench coat. From & Other Stories, the feather knit jumper and wool sweater are very cute and cozy for fall. Also very cute and cozy is this long fuzzy wool coat. From H&M, these loafers are a staple. They would be cute with this ribbed knit dress and wool blend coat. And lastly, this faux leather bag looks just like a Bottega Veneta. And I love this black leather shoulder bag. It reminds me of a bag from The Row.

I ordered the fun yellow color and then reordered the black (for the 3rd time). thinking of ordering…the UGG classic ultra mini platform boot. These are so cute and great for slipping on in the fall/winter. But do I need them? wanting…a fiddle leaf fig plant. Honestly, I don’t love plants, but I think this could brighten my house when I don’t have fresh flowers. loving…America’s Best Places to See Fall Colors. So, so, so stunning. And yes, Aspen really is that pretty in the fall. High on my list is upstate New York. Dying to go apple-picking there. everything in my cart (high)…oh, I have a lot this week. So many fall finds! Let’s start with Prada, I am obsessed. I love this black cloth jacket. It’s oversized but cinched at the waste. I could live in this cashmere sweater. And then, this large leather handbag in cognac, but also the medium handbag in tobacco. Continuing with handbags, this Balenciaga leather chain bag is the “it” bag right now. As is this Celine bag. Personally, I think I’d go for the smaller Celine bag, cute and classic. For fall shoes, these Bottega Veneta knee high boots are perfection. And we can’t forget about these Prada knee high leather boots, super cute. Ok, but I think my favorite is the black calf leather wedge knee high boot from Jimmy Choo. And lastly, these Fendi brown leather slingbacks are the cutest and I want them the most. Moving on to skirts. This Bottega leather midi skirt is cute, but then I love this denim midi skirt from Khaite too. And then this Ann Demeulemeester wool maxi skirt. I’d wear it with this pretty Brunello Cucinelli knit hoodie for a cozy look. Speaking of knits, the Staud jeromine sweater is a fun shade of yellow. And I’d love this cashmere vest from Le Kasa. If you have a black tie event, this Tom Ford velvet and tule maxi dress is stunning. Or actually, I love this Tom Ford one-shoulder velvet mini dress paired with a black velvet hooded cape. The cape really steps up the look.

4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: best hostess gift ideas? a: You can never go wrong with candles or flowers. But I love to bring a Staub skillet as a gift to housewarming dinners. On the simpler side, a thank you note + candle or bouquet of flowers is always thoughtful. Self-care items can be great too. Or put together a homemade goodie box with all your favorite spices and/or sauces. q: what is your least favorite part of your job? a: Maybe email ? no probably not, that’s just what I’m trying to get through right now. Each day is so different. I don’t think I can say there’s anything I really hate, hate. Yeah, I don’t love email, but sometimes they can be exciting emails! This will annoy people, but I think I really do love every part of my business. And the more we grow, the more I love it. It’s so incredible to see growth and honestly, it’s so much fun. I don’t even mind the cleaning. I usually have help and it’s a nice time for my brain to not be “working”. q: favorite way to travel? Car, train, plane, boat, etc? a: For efficiency, a plane without a doubt, but I hate airports and the whole day of travel when flying. Just not my favorite. If time is not a factor, I think a train could be fun. Or maybe a boat and make a trip out of it! q: what is an easy dish to make/bring to someone who just had a baby? a: There are sooo many good recipes you could bring. With September around the corner, I have to say, I would bring my white chicken chili. It’s always everyone’s favorite and so easy. q: what do you do for self-care? a: I’m pretty religious with my skincare. And I hike every morning! Otherwise, I’m not the absolute greatest at self-care. But I always make time for movement in the morning, and skincare morning + night. q: what do your parents do for work? When did Oslo come into your family? a: We all work together at HBH. Before HBH, my dad sold bonds and my mom was, and still is, super mom to all 8 of her kids + my 3 cousins (and uncle). Crazy that almost two years have gone by now, but Oslo will be two on October 11th! q: 30th birthday gift ideas? Something that will last a lifetime? a: Skip the gift and take a trip together. The memories/experience will outlast anything you could wrap! q; do a what’s in my bag video!a: Love when people do this. When I’m home, I have nothing in my bag ? I’m pretty much at the studio working at all hours. But it’s fun when I travel and I’m picky about what goes in!! More to come. I’ll do a video for my next trip. q: What dry brush do you use? How many times a week do you do it? a: I use the Dr. Barbara Sturm dry brush. I do it every night before showing. It’s changed my skin and helped so much with circulation and inflammation since I’m on my feet all day long. Melissa Wood Tepperberg has really good information on how to dry brush efficiently. q: best purchases for the kitchen? a: Staub cast iron cookware and ceramic dinnerware set. Miyabi cutlery. Subzero fridge and Wolf range (they are costly though). Breville espresso machine. Cuisinart food processor. Vitamix blender. Zara Home silverware set. Crate and Barrel glassware + serving bowls and platters. q: do you donate your clothes when you clean your closet? a: Asher always picks through first! It’s one of her fav things to do these days. But yes, everything else is donated. q: favorite restaurant in Aspen? a: Try Bear Den on Hopkins. Or just across the street is the White House Tavern for the best fried chicken sandwiches. Or go healthier and get the kale Ceasar salad. And then for sushi, try Jing. q: do you use any kind of non-stick skillet? a: I don’t own any nonstick skillets or pots. Everything I use is cast iron or copper.
5. A question for you.
What’s on your list for fall? What’s the one thing you want to do most? here are some ideas: – find an apple orchid nearby, then bake these apple doughnuts. – make the home cozy – watch all the best Halloween movies – go to a pumpkin patch and pick out all my favorite odd-looking pumpkins. Then do some carving and roast their seeds. – make homemade apple cider, apple butter, and apple cider doughnuts. And let’s throw in some pumpkin butter too. – make the house smell like fall by simmering up a potpourri of fall scents. – send out a few fall-themed gifts to friends. – go for a hike and take in all the fall foliage. – mixup spooky cocktails. – splurge on a new pair of fall boots, sweater, coat, or bag. For me, travel more, especially to the east coast. Excited to see the leaves.

It’s Spooktacular October! I’m so excited for this month, so many fun things happening, of course, the culmination being Halloween. The overly “cheesy” Tieghan is back for the remainder of the year and I’m filled with excitement for everything to come. It always feels so nice to have so much to look forward to! I’m starting the month off at home, where things are starting to feel very cozy. I’ll be launching something incredibly special to me on October 13th – more on that below. I can’t wait. I’m working on new holiday content for Halloween (did you see yesterday’s Hocus Pocus inspired cocktail?). I’m thinking ahead to Thanksgiving (it’s going to be here before we know it). And then, I’ll excitedly spend the second half of the month traveling for work. I’ve already started ordering Christmas decorations, plotting our holiday gift guide, and genuinely getting even more excited in the process. I am truly a holiday-loving freak. Basically, I’m the ultimate Hallmark girl. But I’m ok with that, I have fun with it! How has everyone been? With October here, I’m curious to hear what’s on your calendar for the month ahead. Any new recipes you’re looking for? How about Halloween treats for upcoming parties? What about simple dinners? Last year we shared holiday gift guides for the very first time. We had a lot of fun creating them, but I wonder, were they something you all enjoyed? For this year I think instead of doing multiple guides I want to do one master guide. Would that be helpful? What are your budgets for the holiday season? Do you want to see a few options for fun splurges or stick to mostly affordable finds? Was there a gift guide last year that you loved the most? Tell me everything in the comments, please! I want to make this year’s holiday content even better and more valuable to you all! Let’s see, what else. I don’t really have any fun stories/updates this week. It’s just been normal day-to-day work and family stuff. All fun things, but nothing to note. Our leaves are the prettiest shades of yellow and orange. Some have already fallen to the ground, which is a little sad to see. My fingers are crossed that we don’t see any snow over the next couple of weeks, I am not ready for that. We already received snow on the mountain tops on Friday night. I have to say, it is pretty though. For those of you wondering about my younger brother Kai, he’s doing much better this week. Last week we found out that he had a staph infection around his hip prosthesis and he had emergency surgery. He’s home this week with IV antibiotics and doing well. We won’t really know if the surgery was successful for a while. I was able to get him some Cymbotica supplements to help support his immune system and speed up the healing process. Chervin, the founder of Cymbotica recommended he start taking their Liposomal Glutathione, Liposomal Vitamin C, Vitamin D3 + K2 + CoQ10, Probiotic, and Molecular Hydrogen. I’m excited to have Kai taking these and hopeful they’ll boost his immune system. If you’d like to hear more from Chervin and learn about Cymbotica, one of my go-to podcasts, The skinny Confidential, has had him on 3 times now. Listen to the latest episode with Chervin here. That’s it for our weekly update! I have lots of fun things below, so I hope you enjoy! Have a great Sunday and welcome to cozy season!
1. Things i’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
new beauty products to try…from Augustinus Bader, I want to test out their eyebrow and lash serum, and then their eye cream too. Both products have such positive reviews. Everyone has been asking me about retinol lately. To be honest, I just ran out of the product I was using and never restocked it. I’d love to try the Skin Ceuticals retinol night cream, if I get it, I’ll let you know what I think. Also, I would love their new Phyto Corrective Essence Mist. For body, I read about the Chanel body serum mist and it has incredible feedback. And lastly, I’ve wanted this forever eye mask for the longest time. I think I need to just order it already. everything in my cart (low)…from Zara, I love this oversized puffer coat, very cozy. This menswear wool blend coat is a timeless piece to add to your closet. As is the faux leather trench coat. Slip dresses are everywhere right now, this satin effect dress would be cute styled with knee-high boots. I’m obsessed with skirts, eyeing their statin midi skirt and then, their faux leather midi skirt (so gorgeous) too. For sweaters, this striped knit sweater is a classic piece. You can’t go wrong with the menswear style pant. And this long cable knit coat looks so cozy. Moving on to a couple of pieces from Mango, I love this pretty shearling jacket. I would pair it with this small leather bag. And lastly, this might sound weird, but I want to order these silk boxers. They look so comfy for lounging around the house or wearing to bed. traveling…The 55 Most Beautiful Small Towns in America. Fall foliage is about to be in full force. listening to…How to Change Career Paths & Identify you Strengths and Weaknesses with DEUX, founder Sabeena Ladha. I was happily surprised by this episode. I went into it thinking I might get bored but listened to every minute. Super interesting and informative story. Excited to try their cookie dough now too! following…Derek Blasberg, the head of fashion and beauty for Youtube. He’s such a fun person to follow on Instagram. dreaming of going…to “Forever Valentino,” the Theatrical and Sweeping Exhibition Exploring the House’s Codes and Values That Opens in Doha this October. I know I would love this, and it is in Paris! I would try to stay at The Peninsula, it looks like the most stunning hotel. thinking of ordering…Essential Waffle Dish Towel. We need new kitchen towels, but we’ve had such a hard time finding actual good, absorbent towels. Thinking of trying these. Does anyone have them? watching…This 2000s Show Is My Favorite Comfort Watch. Do you guys remember Everwood? I used to watch this all the time with my mom, we loved it. And we loved that it was set in a Colorado mountain town (we hadn’t moved to CO yet). Thinking I need to re-watch the series this month! following…our good family friend Cortney on her trip to The Greenbriar in West Virginia. Wow, this place looks amazing! wanting…the classic ultra mini platform boot from UGG. These look comfy for cold days. Love the platform sole. loving…all things coffee right now. When the weather gets cooler, I look forward to my morning coffee even more. I love my Breville espresso machine more than anything. It makes the perfect cup every single time. I’ve been enjoying using Chamberlain Coffee. I love their organic beans. everything in my cart (high)…Adore this JW Anderson balloon sleeve coat in navy. I think I need it. I can see my mom or Asher wearing this puffer coat. Such a unique, but cute style. from Prada, this double-breasted leather jacket is complete perfection. It’s beyond a big splurge, but I do love it. The Prada pleated crepe de chine skirt is the perfect shade of yellow. Or try their fancier kid mohair and muslin midi-skirt. So pretty. sticking with skirts, I am in love with the Miu Miu High-Rise Wool Maxi Skirt. And to finish, I love this Khaite, The Keese Dress in chrome. drinking…Vital Proteins. I’ve been using their collagen peptides in my morning coffee for a couple of years now. The brand sent me the new marine collagen and I’m looking forward to incorporating that into my daily routine too. I add a scoop right to my coffee cup, then pour my brewed coffee over. shopping…Alo. They just launched a new cashmere sets collection and I’m so into it for fall/winter. watching…Inside Emma Chamberlain’s Radiant New Home. It’s not my style home, but I still love it, and I love it for her especially. ordering…fabric softener sheet. I’m really not good at laundry. I just don’t put any time or effort into it and I’ve shrunken way too many sweaters. I’m trying to do better though and going to order some softener sheets. Considering these fabric sheets from Public Goods. Or do I get pods from Dropps.

5. My Snif fall candle is here!
Well almost! I’ve been hinting about this launch for months and I couldn’t be more excited that it’s finally time to share! It’s no secret that I love candles, especially a fall or holiday-scented candle. I just can’t say enough how much pleasure they bring me. When Snif approached me about creating a scent for them, I said yes immediately. No questions asked, yes, yes, yes! I’ve always wanted to create a candle. And I finally did! It’s coming on October 13th and I think it’s the thing that I’m most excited about right now. Candles are just so special to me. I light one every single night when I’m home, just like grandma used to do. We’ve been working on perfecting the scent for months and months. It was quite the process but we finally landed on my ideal fall-scented candle. So what is it? That I can’t share just yet, but soon! What I love most are these facts: – vegan + cruelty-free (no paraffin)– high-end soy + vegetable wax blend– 100% pure cotton wicks– non-toxic, safe, clean– extended burn times: 8.5 oz = 50+ hours and 50 oz = 200+ hours You can join the waitlist to get early access to the candle on October 11th. This candle is a limited edition, so if the candles sell out. They’re gone for good. I cannot wait to share this candle with you all. SO EXCITED! Who can guess the scent? a sneak peek of our launch photoshoot

Nine Favorite Things What a fun week! We launched our Pumpkin Smash candle with Snif and it has honestly been so much fun. As with everything I’ve ever launched, I was nervous. Not as nervous as a cookbook launch, I spend years on those and there’s more to them, but still nervous. Most importantly, I want you all to LOVE this candle as much as I do. It is quite honestly my favorite thing right now. And one of the most special projects I’ve been able to work on. I’m so thankful to Bryan and Phil, the founders of Snif, for giving me this opportunity. I’ve spent the last few years searching out candle brands that use only clean, non-toxic ingredients and it’s been tricky. Snif candles are like no other. They’re 100% non-toxic with cotton wicks and they burn down beautifully. And most importantly, they really smell so incredible. I burn candles every single night, just as my Nonnie used to. It’s the nightly ritual I look forward to the most when I’m at home. Creating my own fall-scented candle has been a dream of mine for the last few years. I was never able to find a candle that really embodied the coziness of fall. So that’s the candle we created. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Anyway, I know how much I’ve been gushing about this candle for the last month. So I will end this rant here. But before I do I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported and already ordered the candle. The response has been crazy. You all continue to blow my mind with your love, kindness, and support. Thank you for being the best supporters. You all are the best and you feel like family to us!! OK. But what else is going on? So much, and so many really good things. It’s such an exciting time for me and HBH as our brand continues to grow. We have a big/fun week ahead as I’ll be out of town for work. Per usual, I’m going to leave most of my travel plans as a surprise. I’m hoping you’ll all follow along with this week. I just love a good surprise, and you all seem to have fun with it! So more to come this week and then, of course, a full recap next Sunday! Where do you think I’m headed? What am I doing? It’s a hodge-podge of items, so take your guess! Moving along, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary on Wednesday! Well, we didn’t really celebrate, but it’s crazy that my mom and I have been working on HBH for 10 years now. You guys have really watched me grow up. I was such a baby when I wrote that very first post. I’m hoping to steal my mom away for a little bit tonight, I have something for her! And to you guys! I did a cookbook bundle giveaway on Instagram. If you missed it, keep your eyes peeled for more giveaways soon – for both the book and now the candle! Tuesday was Oslo’s 2nd birthday, so we celebrated that too! Lots of celebration and excitement this week. We kept his birthday very simple, but he had fun! And he loved his birthday cake, which apparently was a group effort by my mom, dad, and Asher! I guess they all helped! Jumping ahead a couple of days to Thursday night. I had a fun book signing in our town. It was small and easy, but fun to do something close to home. And now I’m here, working through this post. I have lots of packing to do this weekend, but Asher has been majorly helping me to keep everything organized! I have so much fun traveling (never thought I would say that) and being able to put together cute looks. Tapping into the side of me that loves fashion is so much fun. And lastly, I just have to say that we’ve had the nicest fall weather the last few days. So happy no big snow has come yet. I’m soaking up every minute of the beautiful orange/yellow trees. Fall came so much later this year and it’s lasted longer too! Have such a nice Sunday! If any of you have gotten your Pumpkin Smash candle, have the coziest day burning it away! I recommend baking up some cinnamon crunch knots to go along with it, oh so cozy. Or if you’re like me, and saving it for a Sunday night slow burn, a cider margarita is super cozy too. Enjoy! And happy Sunday!
1. things i’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
wanting…to go to Onda Beauty for a facial. This clinic in New York sounds wonderful. Has anyone been? everything in my cart (low)…From Zara, love their satin effect midi skirt. It would be cute with these buckled leather biker boots, which totally remind me of my Frye boots. And from Free People, I’m loving this laid-back mock neck sweater. And I’ve been wanting this hit the slopes fleece for months. Also, this cable knit sweater. So cozy! obsessed with this faux shearling lined jacket from mango. And these high boots too. Lastly, from H&M, I would wear their knee high riding boot on a weekly basis. Love this oversized turtleneck too. And finally, this puffer vest from Abercrombie is perfect, I’d get the brown. And I love this Varley long jones coat.

And traveling to Berlin has always been a must-see/experience location on my list. reading…Strategic Starters for a Dinner Party. Possibly one of the best hostess pieces of advice. everything beauty…curious to test out a few new to me finds. In the skincare department, this bio-retinol gold mask sounds like it works like magic. And then the new Kosas probiotic spray-on serum, helps hydrates, soothes, and visibly firms, lifts, and plumps the skin. And then, Skin Ceutical phyto correct gel, which I actually just started using. So far, it’s great! Also, how wonderful does this Love, Pumpkin Oil Butter from Crate + Jane sound? I am a sucker for anything pumpkin right now. I’m currently loving the Phlur somebody wood eau de parfum fragrance. It’s cozy for fall. Everyone is talking about lymphatic drainage. I’d love to try doing it at home with this body tool, which is free this weekend with every Nécessaire purchase. Speaking of the body, I’ve been loving the Kate McLeod body stones. I have the daily stone and would like to order the grounding stone. I’ve been using the stone nightly and it has kept my skin so moisturized. And lastly, I need to order the GOOP dry brush already. wanting…this bundle of long, fancy matches from McGee and co. everything in my cart (high)…this Jonathan Simkhai faux fur & faux leather jacket and this Stella McCartney altermat belted coat are both very cute. Asher would love them both. Also, from Stella McCartney, this quilted down coat. And I could live in this Trefe quilted down coat from Max Mara. My mom would love this one! Still obsessed with long skirts, loving this Khaite denim maxi skirt and this Prada denim midi skirt. How cozy does this funnel neck bell sleeve oversize sweater from Maje look? And speaking of cozy, the Tibi oversized fleece sweatershirt is in my Net-A-Porter cart. Also from Net-A-Porter, if I want to splurge big time, I’d go for this Gucci 1955 textured-leather shoulder bag. What a pretty bag.
shopping…Christmas 2022 advent calendars. I am obsessed with finding the perfect one to surprise Asher with. Do you have a favorite? My top 3 right now…Asher wants this George and Viv Grand Hotel from Anthropologie. Their Hansel Village is super cute too. And for something more kid friendly, my parents have this cute Santa.

4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: are you excited for soup season? a: Very excited for soup season! Any requests? q: favorite NYC hotels? Where do you love to stay? a: So I usually stay in NoHo and I love it because it’s pretty much in the middle of the city. But I stayed close to Central Park on this last trip and also loved it. Partly because the Park Hyatt New York was so amazing. But they’re different vibes and both have a lot to offer. it’s hard to say and really depends on the trip I think! q: Favorite NY restaurants? a: For restaurants, Via Carota is so good, I love it. I finally went to Russ and Daughters for bagels (thanks to Monica Padman for telling me to go here). Everything was awesome. And then Bemelmans Bar inside The Carlyle is fun. I also love the pizza at Gemma the restaurant attached to The Bowery Hotel. And the RW Guild is kind of a must-see restaurant, it’s really pretty. Loved Saint Theos too. There are so many good spots! I honestly have not been to nearly enough. q: what was it like being in the city on September 11th? a: Very special, emotional, and cool to see everyone’s love and respect for this city. q: would you ever move to New York? a: I love coming here so much, but no I don’t think I could be here full time. I love the quietness of where I live and the space. q: do you really not season your cast iron? a: No. Staub cast iron is enamel coated, so you don’t need to season it. And yes! Don’t wash cast iron unless you really have to. Just rinse it out and wipe it dry, or dry it on the stove over an open flame (what I do). Not washing cast iron just continues to keep the iron seasoned and preserved. I don’t have separate skillets for things like fish, but some people definitely do that. q: favorite apple recipe to bake? a: These are a favorite with everyone – Baked Apple Cider Doughnuts with Cinnamon Maple Glaze q: which bag did you get Asher for her birthday? a: The Staud Alec Bag in cream. q: favorite designer shoes you own? a: So many questions about my shoes today?! I love these Jimmy Choo boots more than anything right now. But I have a pair of Christian Louboutin that are classics. And then my grandma’s Gucci slide kitten heels will always be extra special (and also they’re incredible). q: were you and your siblings homeschooled? a: We all went to public school growing up. Asher did too until covid. Now she does an online program.
5. Happy 10 years!
As I mentioned above, Wednesday marked 10 years of Half Baked Harvest. I was so young when I wrote that very first recipe for butternut squash soup with ghost croutons. It’s crazy to look back and see how much the website, the brand, and myself have grown. I thought I would share the highlights from past years, starting back in 2012 and ending with 2022!! 2012
The very first year! We started late into the year, in October, but wow, have I come far photography-wise. My favorite post for this year was definitely the first, this butternut squash soup with ghost croutons. I mean, pretty freaking cute. 2013
Our first full year of HBH. I was 19 you guys!! This was the year I realized I could really do this and do this as a career. We saw growth within this first year and after working on it non-stop, my mom and I slowly and organically started to call this blogging thing “work”. I think my favorite recipe for 2013 has to be my homemade naan. To this day it’s still in the top 5 most popular recipes of all time. I make a fresh batch pretty much weekly. Ohhh. Wait scratch that. This was also the year I shared my 5 ingredient honey butter beer bread. This is my favorite recipe. Possibly ever. 2014
This was the year we moved to the property where we live now. I lived at home for most of this year, until we were able to renovate the horse barn on the property to be my home and workspace. This was also the year I shared my mom’s famous oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. To this day, that recipe remains one of the top 20 most popular recipes on HBH of all time. I need to edit that recipe however, it’s written so poorly! Oh, also this, Homemade Holidays: Let’s Make the House Smell Like Christmas. My FAVORITE and yet another top 20 blog post. 2015
My first year in my own house!! Oh, I loved this special time. It was nice to be so close to my family, but also on my own and away from them. This was a great year. And I slowly started to see more improvements in my photography too! This was also the year I shared my butter-roasted turkey. Another recipe in the top 20 ever on HBH. I make this turkey every single Thanksgiving. It’s a tried and true staple for so many of you, which feels so special to me. Also, I shared my first Thanksgiving menu this year too! 2016
We made our first hire in 2016! Granted it didn’t last long, but if I remember correctly I was just starting to work on the HBH cookbook and feeling overwhelmed. We tried someone over the summer, but ultimately it did not work out. It’s OK though! We’ve come so far since then. The go-to recipe for the year has to be the crockpot cider braised short ribs. 2017
The very first Half Baked Harvest cookbook!! Oh my gosh, yes I have come so far! But this is a special book, the very first, and it’s a cookbook that I know many of you still love!! This was a crazy, exciting year. I shared my first Christmas cookie box in December of 2017 and it’s been one of my favorite traditions on the site ever since. I loved this box. And for a recipe, my favorite was my vanilla chai white Russian. 2018
The year Red took home a gold medal in the 2018 winter Olympics in South Korea. Obviously, this was the highlight of the year. Read all the highlights from the trip here and here. They’re fun to look back on! We also moved into the studio in September of 2018! I was able to separate my home from my work and it was/is the greatest luxury. Recipe-wise, I think my 2 favorites are the Thai peanut chicken ramen and pumpkin coffee cake muffins. 2019
SUPER SIMPLE came out in October 2019!! This was a fun release because it was the first book I got to travel for. And I had so much fun! This was also the first book to make the New York Times bestseller list. So all-in-all, a pretty GOOD year. My favorite recipe, for sure is my Holy Joly Santa cookies and then the ever-so-popular creamy sun-dried tomato chicken and orzo. 2020
- The year that shook everyone. Ehhh, I hate to even touch on this year too much because I know it was so difficult for so many. That being said, this was a huge year of growth for us. While others were struggling, the online communities thrived. I think we doubled in size. So while this was an awful time, it was exciting and very busy for us. This was also the year sweet Oslo welcomed himself into our family. He’s brought more joy and happiness to us than I could ever explain. So for us 2020 was an incredible year and one we will happily never forget. I cranked out a lot of recipes. My favorites: slow cooker tortellini vegetable soup, sheet pan sticky ginger sesame chicken and crispy brussels sprouts, molten chocolate crackle pie, and my Santa Clause cookies. 2021
I shared so my good recipes this year, but my personal highlights were the apple cinnamon rolls with brown butter maple icing, homestyle chicken noodle soup, and my easy vanilla bean Christmas tree light cookies. 2022
And here we are! 2022 and still cranking away!

Happy Halloween! Or happy almost Halloween! I am so excited! Of course, it’s full-on winter here. It looks more like November 30th and nothing like what October 30th should look like. We currently have a fresh blanket of bitter-cold snow. And while it is pretty, I am not quite ready for this kind of weather. I was supposed to fly to LA on Thursday for a very quick in-and-out trip, but the weather had some other plans. I had to pull out at the very last minute, which was a bummer but ended up being for the best. The extra time at home has allowed me to catch up on things before a last-minute trip this week. Or catch up at least a little. It really has been non-stop lately, and I’m loving every minute of it. I feel happier, more energized, and more excited than ever before. So many things to come, it’s been a lot, but amazing! I got home from New York Sunday night, then dove right into things on Monday morning, knowing I only had a couple of days in the kitchen before I was scheduled to leave again. You would think that having to cancel my quick trip to LA would be a relief, but I’m honestly a little bummed I had to miss out! As I said, it was for the best though, I buckled down and have been getting a lot done. I’m off for another trip on Wednesday and looking forward to that. Where do you think I’m heading this time? Let’s see, what else. The remainder of my New York trip was amazing. I will say I love being in the city. The energy there is like no other. When I got back to work on Monday, I felt so energized and excited. Even though I probably should have been dead tired. I hope to be back soon! Moving on – the holidays! And more specifically Thanksgiving! I spent some time working on our menu for this year and I can not wait to share. Unfortunately, I can’t manage to get it up this week, due to this last-minute trip. But I promise to have it posted by early next week! I’m still working on all the menu details, so please share any and all requests. After reading last Sunday’s comments, you all seem to need easy, make-ahead side dishes, simple desserts, and fun cocktails! Plus a few new vegetarian main offerings as well. My parents, Asher, and Oslo all flew to Cleveland for the weekend to spend Halloween with my grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Asher has never experienced trick-or-treating the way most kids have. Where we live, the homes are too spaced out to really do any kind of door-to-door trick-or-treating. The town offers trick-or-treating on Main street, but it’s always so cold, oftentimes snowing! So she’s going to have fun finally being able to go door-to-door collecting candy, and of course, dressing up. She’s going to be Marlyn Monroe. Oslo is going to either be Max, from the book Where the Wild Things Are, or the abominable snowman. They will have so much fun! I can’t wait to see the photos tomorrow. Aside from that, not much else to report! The family is still planning a trip to Europe right after Thanksgiving, so that’s fun and exciting! And I think we’re all looking forward to the holiday season. My mom and Asher definitely played Christmas music this week! I’m sure the Hallmark movies will be playing soon!
1. Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.
everything in my cart (low)…From Zara, I’d wear this velvet mini dress to holiday parties. You can dress it down with these lug sole loafers or try the Chelsea boot. This cropped denim jacket is the perfect style. And I love this long blazer look. from the Kaia Gerber collection, the leather boots are perfection. They would be cute with her poplin shirt and midi leather skirt. Stay bundled with her cashmere sweater and knit scarf. from Nordstrom, this bell sleeve sweater is very cozy. Same with this long cardigan from Mango. Also from Mango, I am obsessed with this shearling lined leather jacket. But I love, this fleece lined jacket from H&M too. And their puffer is great too.
listening to…Jenna Lyons on Friend of a Friend. I loved this conversation. It speaks to so many of the reasons I personally love fashion. dreaming of going…Hôtel Madame Rêve in Paris. What a stunning Paris hotel. traveling…to Austin in November – recommendations for a nice hotel? loving…the UGG boot guards. A genius idea for UGG to offer these. The guards can go over any UGG boot for added protection and support in the winter. shopping…the Zara Home holiday collection. I ordered many of their ornaments but especially love this gold drop Christmas ornament and bicycle. While you’re there, grab a Christmas garland and decorative lights. And this Christmas print mug is so cute. Asher would love their advent calendar and Christmas snowglobe. And I can’t wait for the North Pole ornament to become available. Same with the fleece blanket. Oslo needs his own! thinking of ordering…this Ergonomic Chair. But really, would you spend this much on a desk chair? I’m not sure I can do it, but everything I’ve read highly recommends this chair! loving everything beauty… the Sephora sale.
wanting…Sticky Glass glassware. These are so fun. I’d love the bubble cups. everything in my cart (high)…I love this Saint Laurent floor-length wool-blend coat. The style is stunning. This black leather Khaite jacket is also incredible. Both pieces are lifetime pieces. Speaking of leather, these pants are very cute. Another closet forever piece. This cashmere dress from Reformation is great for cold nights. And I think this Khaite quilted tote in caramel suede is so pretty. And lastly, I never wear a watch, but I would wear this Chanel watch every day. shopping…Mine & Yours. I spent some time scrolling the designer retail items on this site. You have to do some searching, but you can find incredible deals on lightly pre-owned designer pieces. A good way to shop for your favorite designers! gifting…Soft Services buffing bar. This could be a fun stocking stuffer. ordered…all the cutest wrapping paper from Paper Source. I went a little overboard, but such cute holiday wrapping! watching…honestly, I am ready for Christmas movies. Hallmark sucker over here. What are your favorites? listening to…On Purpose with Jay Settler. Just discovered his podcast. What episodes do you recommend most?

4. Favorite questions of the week.
q: bakers sugar? Yay or nay?a: Not a clue what baker’s sugar is so I say Nah! You don’t need fancy ingredients to cook/bake. Simple works just as well! q: I love your fashion/home style! Can you offer affordable dupes? a: I definitely have a pricer taste, BUT also get that we need more realistic price points. If I didn’t link out the affordable options already via stories (I’ve been trying to give both), then I most likely have it here on the site. Check the Sunday post! I share my wants and then affordable pieces to match, under $200, under $100, etc. everything is always in the Sunday Nine Favorite Things post! q: what are your skincare steps for morning and evening? a: When I get back from hiking, I rinse my face with cold water. I don’t usually use a cleaner unless I’ve been wearing a hat or been around cars. So when I travel, I’ll usually wash in the morning with IS Clinical cleansing complex. Then I follow with Vintner’s Daughter Active Treatment Essence. I always apply a Vitamin C serum. First, IS Clinical Pro Heal Serum, then Dr. Barbara Sturm vitamin c serum. I layer that with her calming serum most days and then lather on her anti-aging eye cream. I’ve been finishing with Sunday Riley vitamin C cream or I’ll use Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream. Sometimes both since my skin is dry. When I’m wearing any kind of makeup, I always double cleanse at night. I’ll use Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm and then IS Clinical cleansing complex. I love using the Resore Body Towels. When my face is clean, I layer on Dr. Barbara Sturm hyaluronic serum, then her Night Serum, and follow with her eye cream and anti-aging face cream. I use Tata Harper Illuminating Eye Cream as well, just depends on the day/night. And lastly, I always finish with the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream to really help moisturize my skin overnight. But I’ve also been loving Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream. I’ll switch up products here and there, but always use the vitamin c in the morning and hyaluronic at night. Oh, and I always cleanse!! Ok and for body, all Necessaire products, and then I’ve been loving Tata Harper Body Balm, it’s incredible. q: Any recommendation for good quality towels? In crimson?a: Ok, so crimson is a tricky color 😬 but I will say that I love Boll and Branch towels. The quality is hard to beat and you can use my code tieghan20 for 20% off. q: favorite thing about fall?a: The excitement for all that is to come – colors changing, new fall clothes, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. So many fun things to look forward to and partake in throughout the next 3 months. Best time of year! q: did you buy the $100 candle?a: No, but I will say I love Snif.co candles the most (burning our HBH Pumpkin Smash scent now). I recently burned a Nette candle (try the chai milk). Both were great with really affordable price points (: q: best store/website to buy designer at a discount.a: Recently discovered Fashionphile and have been loving it. q: favorite sweatpants/PJs?a: I love Èterne pieces. The softest material. I’m in something of theirs almost every day. Currently wearing these pants. q: favorite fall soup? a: I have two favorites and can’t decide between them. Either a homestyle chicken noodle soup or broccoli cheddar soup. Both of my recipes are my take on Panera’s soups. I loved both soups growing up! q: Halloween party recipe ideas? a: I love Halloween! We have a Halloween page on the site full of recipe ideas 🎃 👻

6. Mindset shift + gift giving
Recently I’ve really worked on shifting my mindset. I’ve talked about this in the past, but this time I’ve already made the shift to positivity. And I’ve truly and honestly seen the biggest difference. Not only in myself, my happiness, and my energy level, but the people around me too. When you are happy, it’s contagious. I realized how important this way of thinking really is. Even more this week. I was able to help my mom snap out of a funk and see things in a different light. With so much going on, it can get overwhelming and she was just simply overwhelmed. It felt amazing to be able to help her and be her positivity for the morning. Because we really are so lucky. We mostly only have GOOD things happening. Encouraging everyone to be someone’s energy this week. Build them up, be their hype team, SMILE MORE. It’s only going to make you happier, and life in general better. November (and December) are all about giving. I thought I’d share some favorite gifts to send out randomly or sweet things to do for a friend. These can be products. Or just doing something nice to help them out throughout the day, which is totally free! On Instagram, I’ll often give out Starbucks gift cards. And I love to send off my favorite candles to any friends or family who’d enjoy them. What gifts do you love to send?
