General Tso S Chicken

My family loves Chinese food, and I’ve set out to recreate all their favorite recipes at home. I often make crab rangoon, chicken lettuce wraps and this irresistible crispy General Tso’s chicken. General Tso’s chicken is one of my all time favorite Chinese food dishes. I love that it’s crispy, with a hint of sweet and a hint of spicy. I’ve started making this recipe at home when we’re craving Asian food, but don’t want to take the time to go to a restaurant....

Grilled Blackberry Strawberry Basil And Brie Pizza Crisps

I think I have probably said this twenty times since Memorial Day, but it officially arrived on Friday and to celebrate I made us pizza crisps. Hopefully by the time you guys read this post I will be in hot, hopefully sunny, South Carolina. Currently though? I am sitting in Cleveland. Okay, technically I am not sitting in Cleveland. I am actually to the west, in Rocky River, OH. I’m sitting in my grandparent’s back room which has been called, “the loggia” since it was first built during WWII....

Healthier 30 Minute Beer Braised Chicken

You know those recipes that are just really good? The ones you turn to time and time again because they never fail and everyone always loves them? Well, this is very much one of those recipes. And I love so much that I get to share it with you guys because it’s so perfect for the crazy months ahead. Funny enough, this recipe was inspired by one I made way back in the very early days of writing Half Baked Harvest....

Holiday Cheermeister Bourbon Punch

If you’ve ever seen The Grinch, which I really hope everyone has, then you know who the Holiday Cheermeister is. He or she is the spirit of the holidays and meant to bring cheer to all. In the Grinch’s case, he could probably use a little cheer on the inside! So, since this Holiday Cheermeister Bourbon Punch is full of Christmas spirit, I thought it would be the perfect cocktail to help out poor Mr....

Homemade Animal Crackers

Aren’t these so sweet? Almost dainty like, right? They’re probably the most fun cracker to both bake up and eat. I love the fact that these take me back to being 10 years old with not a care in the world…other than what was on the agenda for my summer. Sounds so nice, right? These crackers take you back to that carefree mindset. Not only that but they’re so darn delicious....

Honey Ginger Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon With Avocado Salsa

Hope you all had an amazing 4th and enjoyed the day off! With the fire ban that’s been imposed over pretty much all of Colorado right now, we didn’t have any 4th of July fireworks. But most of the day was beautiful, and my parents and Asher went to our local parade and then enjoyed a band afterwards. Later we grilled out and had a nice relaxing evening. Even though it wasn’t a big party, I still had a great day, full of both work, family, and rest…all of which were needed....

Iced Lemon Loaf

I’ve definitely said this before, but sometimes I let recipes sit on my idea list for far too long before actually attempting to make them. It’s silly, because the reason I let them sit there is simply because I fear they’re not going to be “special” enough. In reality, it’s me second guessing myself. Again it is silly. But here’s the upside, I let them sit, but I tend to always come back to them, usually adding something that really does make them extra special....

Instant Oats Rava Dosa

Rava Dosa or Onion Rava is quite popular as a breakfast in all of South India. A large crispy, golden and lacy dosa is folded into twos or fours, served along with assorted chutneys and sambar is blissful to even think about! I took the standard rava dosa and modified it to add oats, making it Instant Oats Rava Dosa – one way to include oats in our diet....

Instant Pot Pesto Zuppa Toscana

This Italian soup is a recipe I’ve been wanting to create for a while now. I’m not sure what took me so long to test this out, but I’m so happy I finally did, because wow, this is hands down a new family favorite. Technically this is soup, but it’s definitely hearty enough to serve for dinner on these cold November nights (it’s been snowing here since yesterday…and I could not be happier about it)....

Irish Coffee Chocolate Cake Half Baked Harvest

Irish style of course, because that just seems to be my thing this week. Don’t hate it, embrace it! It’s a cake you would crave on any day, but especially on a Friday. But first, starting off on a random note, did you know that spring officially starts a week from today? Thoughts of spring make me SO happy. Not because I am beyond tired of the snow, but more because of the thought of flowers and colors, and ok, maybe a trip to Florida that I am still hoping to make it on....

Lemony Pesto Chicken Noodle Soup

The very first recipe of 2024. It’s a very “green” chicken soup, and it’s the perfect reset recipe for this week. People often put so much pressure on themselves to make this first week of the new year super wholesome, super productive, and ALL THINGS HEALTHY. But it doesn’t need to be so intense. We can still enjoy the yummiest foods. There’s no need for any cold, boring salads. It’s January, and it’s cold outside....

This week’s Mango recipe is here and it is a super simple, super delicious one at that. Mango Chia Pudding uses just four ingredients and can be made in a jiffy.
