Welcome to the first Saturday of July! I’m hoping you all are enjoying a very long holiday weekend, soaking up the sun, making delicious food, and sipping on refreshing cocktails. We’ve been spending this last week getting caught up on all things work and life after two weeks away, but I’m excited to be taking the day to actually enjoy this beautiful Colorado summer. We’ve been having unusually warm weather with temperatures in the upper seventies and even low eighties. I know that doesn’t sound too warm, but for a mountain summer, that’s pretty warm, and I am loving it. The warmer temperatures have left me craving a summertime staple, lemonade. Please tell me I am not the only one who loves a cold, tall glass of refreshing lemonade? My childhood summers were filled with glass after glass of pink lemonade. My brothers and I used to fill the blender full of ice and lemons to make lemonade slushies on extra hot days… Kind of wishing I was twelve again and sipping on lemonade slushies in the backyard with the family. Anyone ever do the same?
Since I can’t travel back in time, I decided to make the adult version of my childhood summertime favorite. Enter this Sweet Bourbon Peach Lemonade. It’s just like the lemonade we all know and love, but better, thanks to the addition of fresh sweet peaches and bourbon. I mean, do I even need to say more?! SO GOOD.
Since I’ve been having so much fun with summer cocktails, I teamed up with one of my go-to brands, Florida’s Natural, to make this recipe. Most of you may know them for their crazy good orange juice, but did you know that they also make lemonade? Well they do, and it’s just as good as their orange juices. They have flavors like pomegranate, lemonade iced tea, raspberry & peach, and of course, classic lemonade. Over here we really love them all, but the raspberry & peach lemonade has been my go-to for the last few weeks. It has just the right amount of sweet peach to balance the more tart raspberry and lemon flavors. This Sweet Bourbon Peach Lemonade requires just three very simple ingredients: Florida’s Natural Raspberry Peach Lemonade, fresh peaches, and bourbon. Simple as that. As far as summer cocktails go, this is my new favorite. It’s quick, easy, and totally refreshing.
