BOO!! Welcome back to the official start of the HBH Fall/Holiday Cocktail Saturday series. I am one week later than I had hoped, but better late than never! And you guys!? I AM SO EXCITED to be back. Starting today we’ll have a new cocktail up on Saturdays throughout the remainder of the year. It’s always an ambitious task, but a fun one for sure. I’m kicking Cocktail Saturday off with my favorite spooky drink yet. I’ve been way too excited to share this drink with you guys. It’s good, it’s easy, and it’s certainly extra spooky ?

So let’s recap just what Cocktail Saturdays are. These posts are meant to be fun…but also short and sweet. No rambling from me, just lots of cocktail photos and a delicious drink recipe for your weekend pleasure. It feels very fitting to start Spooky Cocktail Saturday…all the October drinks…with a dark and moody cocktail. Yesterday would have been my Nonnie’s 80th birthday. The cool thing about my grandma? She loved Halloween. She would go all out every year with fun decorations, candles, and cocktails too. My grandparent’s house was known for having the very best Halloween candy on the block (don’t lose your reputation Grandpa!). My nonnie made Halloween the most special holiday and I love that she passed her love of all things “spooky” onto me. I know she’d surely love this fun cocktail.

As I mentioned, the cocktail is inspired by Harry Potter, but also Tom Riddle, or Lord Voldemort himself. It’s dark and magical…and all things good. It’s a mix of some of my autumn favorites, but with a twist. A splash of pomegranate juice, a little tequila (or Mezcal), a dash of Chambord (raspberry liquor), lemon, sage for warmth, maple for sweetness, and topped off with ginger beer. This is sweet, smoky, and all things cozy, but also gives off the spookiest of Halloween vibes. To give the drink a little smokiness, I finished each drink off with a smoking sage leaf. It’s mostly just fun for presentation, but it does infuse the drink with hints of fresh sage.

Saturday nights in October are all about spooky cocktails, Halloween decorating, and Harry Potter movie marathons. So excited! Oh, and please let me know your drink requests for the coming months ahead! PS. I got the skull glasses on Williams-Sonoma. You can order them here.
